The upvotes for them will start on 21/11/2018 and continue for about a month. The sponsorships from level 5 started the day that level was 100% completed. This level was reached a bit ahead of time so they only lasted ~27 days instead of the average month.
The way the sponsorships were designed is not to drastically cut in the returns shareholders get from the upvoteshares account. This is the reason they are limited in time. There are 3 major benefits to them though.
- Getting sponsorored multiple times will eventually get you a free share in the upvoteshares account (paid for by the program) for more permanent upvotes.
- Just the act of a minnow getting some love by being sponsored to many gives a good feeling
- The upvotes that are given out by the @minnowshares account for a month. While they are not that high right now around 0.015$, they do add up and especially for smaller account that have a hard time getting any kind of upvotes they are nice.
Oh, that sounds a bit more confusing about the start of the minnowhares upvote. I thought it starts simultaneously with the upvoteshares. Anyway, I get it now. Thanks for the clarifications.
@celinavisaez, @janton - just FYI, the effect of additional minnowshares on upvotes for you will take effect on 21/11/2018 and not today.
