My Steemit Business Cards For Offline Promotion

Ordering business cards is a low-cost way to increase local exposure and promote Steemit. Just upload a Steemit logo to a printing company like Vista Print and add your details.

Cryptocurrency Awareness, Adoption Then Diffusion

Chances are, you probably don't run into a lot of people on the street that have even heard of bitcoin yet. Though awareness is increasing, blockchain technology is still a new concept. We as people, are creatures of habit and have a hard time adapting to change. Look how long the internet took to gain large-scale adoption and diffuse to become the 'norm'.

World Wide Web introduced in 1991 and two years later the White House and United Nations go online. It wasn't until 2000 till the dot-com bubble burst and DNS like .com, .net, .gov were introduced in 1983!

Excitement Is Contagious! Break The Ice

Business cards are a great ice-breaker for introducing a business or opportunity. In this case, we are opening the door to a paradigm shift in the way we communicate, shop, socialize and pay for goods or services. Blockchain technology has a ton of potential, but the learning curve is still pretty steep.

Typically when you hand someone a business card, they'll ask what it's all about or what you do? What a great opportunity to tell them you get paid to write articles, post art or just for participating in a social platform! Chances are, they will feed off your energy level; it's hard not to get excited about the opportunities this technology creates.

Creative Ways to Use Business Cards

Now that you have 100 to 500 business cards for $10 to $25, how do you hand them out? Good question. There are a lot of creative ways to use business cards. Here are a few:

  1. Leave a few cards in a hotel room, on the nightstand before you checkout.
  2. Leave it on the table or in a fishbowl at a restaurant/coffee shop/bar with a tip.
  3. Place a card in everything you mail out.
  4. Attach an image of your business card to your email signature.
  5. Pin some to a bulletin board in the Walmart entrance.

Need some more ideas for business card distribution? You could do a quick Google search for ways to hand out cards. Creativity and quantity is key.

What creative ways have you used business cards in the past?
Have any ideas to share for distribution?

That's really a great idea for promoting your steemit blog man!
Thanks for such amazing tips!
@progressivechef

There is another barrier I forgot to mention.

To hand out cards and get permission to leave them places, it can be socially awkward. I tend to just come out and ask usually at the end of a casual conversation.

Glad you found the information useful, @progressivechef. I appreciate the feedback.

Dear My friend @tunnelrat. You have been curated and mentioned in "Curation Digest: August 28, 2017" for this article by @buildawhale. Check it out here

IMO your cards should have that picture of you looking at your cards on them. Establishing a good Droste effect can be key in marketing.

Well, i don't know how it is in your country, but business cards with people picture on it are not in the good way today.
They maybe were in America at some point but don't think it would be a good choice today.

Maybe can choose an interesting shape combined with steemit logo and with an arrow. That blue colors helps a lot to be a nice look in a nice shape: cloud shape, circle on the left and rectangular on the right... etc.

And on the back, just big steemit logo and your link under it.

Picture could help on a flyer with more info and made it to attract people to enter.

Hope gives you some ideas too from that :-)

Solid ideas, @ilvstranger. Thanks for your input. I will definitely add to the design next time around.

business cards with people picture on it are not in the good way today.

Still popular in the U.S., especially for real estate agents. I've done it in the past, just wanted feedback on this design first.

If they work for you there, then go for it :-)

Here, we hate that kind of things because of people that were using it... and lot of history... i think you understand the ideea. Cultures as... tastes are not discussed, they are how they are :-)

That's what i do. I like to give ideas to people to help them promote in a good way.

Cheers

I understand and do appreciate the feedback. On the fence about the next design but still have a lot of this first batch to hand out.

Enjoyed the conversation.

That's a great idea, @spottyfox. Thanks for your feedback. Probably do something like that with the next batch.

Well, i can say i have a small advertising company and i can make anything that is related to print or product (personalizing mugs, textile or other products).

It occurred to me to do something like that, but i think i must connect also a blog and other things to it for have a small presentation with what is it.

I don't know many people who heard about crypto world and i should relate to some quick intro there too. Also, here is something different from what they know and lazy facebook made a lot of people, they will most not enter :-)

Who knows. I will think to something like that soon.

Thanks for sharing :-)

You should definitely go for it!

No time like the present. If you don't have a blog setup for it yet, just point to your Steemit URL on the card. Or you could put a bit.ly link on it pointing to a 'How to Steemit' post you created. Can always make another card design in the future, they're pretty inexpensive. :)

I have a old one, but with around 10 articles has got 65000 views in past 3-4 years, even if i wrote once or twice in last 3 years i think...

I reentered there recently and thinking to revive it.
Don't know if that kind of information will rise in the "ocean" but i think it is valuable information when giving full solutions to some issues...

I have link in my blog profile.

It wouldn't hurt to post on your own blog, the search engines still pick up the content pretty well. An older blog will have more domain authority over a brand new one (at least it used to).

yea, google is changing all the time :-)

i will try to make a constant there connected with steemit and maybe twitter...

Hope will do the right thing regarding posting.

Cheers

i love the idea

Thanks, would be a shame to miss an opportunity to introduce someone to our community.

Couldn't agree more
