"Borrowed" content should not be awarded.

I honestly find it somehow not really nice, that so many people try to make money with just copying old content from blogs. Still I can see, that many voters don't care and upvote. I suggest everyone to do a quick word check on google, if this content was actually from the poster. If a link is missing I suggest not to upvote.
Of course it may be interesting, if its about some news or similar, but at least a link should make clear, that its just an information, not a article. And just posting some 2 year old content here is not really helping.
What do you think?

I would personally disagree with that idea. While I am not posting some old stuff from my blog and I certainly do not intend to, I believe that usefulness of the information is more important that the fact whether you can find it in any other place or not. We do not have time to look for a piece of information all over the Internet, it is convenient to have it all in one place, here on Steemit.

I agree with this sentiment. I just think it is critical to properly cite a source at the top of an article.

Maybe, but should copycats really be rewarded? I mean, just picture. You write a script that randomly searches the internet for content, that is not already on steem (or maybe is already?) and then the scripts posts it here. You can write about 100 posts per minute and will nearly all steem-dollar...
I think its our duty, to prevent those kind of automation.

Correct, plagiarism is not good. Using old content from own blog or website is perfectly fine in my opinion

who care about that and even Steem don't care :)
