We're in our final stretches to have our base code created for github and open source per the requirements of @utopian and @elear. Due to normal everyday day-to-day work, family requirements and other things we've seen a few days set back on this project but rest assured were still moving forward diligently.

A word from the creator @theuxyeti: I am really excited to bring a new platform to access the Steem Blockchain with SugarSteem. My goal of this interface was to help establish an easier way for users to adopt the Steem blockchain through similar social media treatments that they are more commonly used to using. Twitter, Reddit, Steemit, and Facebook all had vital influences in me adapting a user interface to meet the look and feel that I wanted to capture while translating the similar steemit layout and providing a greater control in personalization, onboarding, and user retention. As we continue to see cryptocurrencies grow in adoption and sustainability it is critical we equally have platforms that are easy to use across all technological skill sets. My mission is to see some improved ways to treat content retention.

Features like saving authors, topics, tags, and a notification setting easily shown as you access your profile are vital staples in this community to improve engagement and interaction. These are just a few tastes we'd like to support moving forward to help improve the overall experience for you on Steem.

I've seen great sites by @fredrikaa like @steempress that work on content creation and user sustainability for ease of use. I'd like to build a site that works along side of busy.org (@ekitcho) or steemit.com (@ned) that doesn't take away from them but equally builds value for them. My goal is user retention and user adoption. I hope through my MVP of personalization features that people will enjoy the adjustments and look and feel as we will constantly be adding new features to SugarSteem.

If you'd like to submit a new feature request you can do so in 2 ways.

1. You can post in our discord SugarSteem Join our Discord Channel SugarSteem Select the channel "New Feature Suggestions" and tag any of us and we will review it and add it.

2. You can add one to our repo on github and we will address the issue there as well

Were currently looking for developers to help us build a more personalized Steem Experience. We are working hard to get the code base created for @utopian @elear approval and will hopefully meet their requirements within the next 7 days. In addition we are looking for assistance to help move this along faster under @krnel and @beggars for Development and @theuxyeti for Front - end and design work. If you are interested in contributing to this project and getting the bigger upvotes from utopian please drop a comment here or join our discord to reach out. I'll be honest were all hard at work, so were not as available in the discord as we'd like to be but we are there. We're working hard to get this thing up and running.

We have some great discussions in the discord concerning features to add that others don't have and great topics of how we'd like to see Steem evolve to.
