If your goal, for the time being, is to generate STEEM Power, I would suggest setting your Author Rewards setting to "Power Up 100%".

In addition to automatically allocating all rewards in the form of SP, it marks all your post with a blue STEEM icon (like the one which should appear next to this comment) which might encourage more people to upvote.

Edit: The icon doesn't appear to show up in the page-context, but it is visible in my comment log. I'm still learning what to expect from the interface. Nonetheless, in my experience, it is clearly visible in feeds, browsing and search.
