RE: Announcing Steemit's New Delegation Application Process

in #steemit5 years ago

This entire post is filled with contradictions and it further moves the platform in the wrong direction. I thought the goal was to onboard more users, yet you are making it less appealing to actually use the platform. This move effectively turns the social media part of the platform into an app platform instead and that just screws over all of the content creators who are not creating applications. Why should I invest time writing a post or putting up my content if it doesn't fit into a specific topic that some app is curating? And if the app that I chose to contribute to doesn't get a large amount of delegation than there is no purpose either.

You talk about how this move will make the platform more decentralized and yet thats obviously not true. One of the largest mistakes that was made early in the development of steem was to allow the chain to be mined. This made it so that there was a drastic income inequality when the steemit platform was established. That income disparity is huge and this move just gives those few people more power.

Steem remains a shining example of what not to do with a social media blockchain platform.
