How to stay motivated working from Home?
If you are someone who is having difficulty working from home, you are keen on wasting time, you are less organized and spend most of your time lazing around, then this post is specifically for you.
First of all I must tell you that working from comes with a lot of perks
Such as
You don’t always have to follow any dress code
You can be your own boss, you don't have to be a victim of work place politics and harassment.
less anxiety.
You can take vacations anytime around the year.
Note: But you can make use of the above perks only when you stay motivated and organized.
• Just like you eat in your kitchen, sleep on a comfortable mattress, similarly you need a work place to be focused. Preferably a place with less distractions (it should be equipped with all the necessities, a comfortable chair, a table, laptop/PC, stationary) don’t chose a store room or pantry as your work place.
Bonus tip (don’t work from bedroom, don’t use laptop on bed)
• Create a working schedule and stick to it religiously (except when there’s an emergency in a family or when you are not well.)
• Take frequent breaks. Don’t make the mistake of working 24/7. Your passion will burn out soon. Don’t stress out yourself. Focus on working smart instead of working hard.
• Start early, now many people don’t get it. Just because you are working from home doesn’t mean you stay up late. You don’t have to do that. Wake up early, have a hearty breakfast, take shower and then start working. Working from home doesn’t mean you become a lazy bum.
• Make a routine to hit the gym. Yes, during your breaks go for walks, exercise those muscles, enjoy the scenery. It will relax your mind and will help in keeping your energy level high.
• Don’t starve yourself. Eat every 2 hours.
• Don’t isolate yourself from family and friends. Every day/weekend, take out sometime to mingle with friends and keep and keep an eye on what’s happening around you. Just because you are working from home doesn’t mean you become a goofy. Stay- up-to-date.
• Don’t jump from one million dollar idea to another. Focus on accomplishing one goal at a time. Don’t work on too many things simultaneously.
.Now just because you are working from doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have a strategy and to-d-list. Keep a diary to manage your immediate tasks. Keep your important dates (doctor’s appointment, an important meeting with a client) all marked up in a calendar at your working space. Have sticky notes in your bedroom as well as at your working place.
• Create deadlines to finish tasks.
• Last but not the least, make a point to listen to motivational lectures, read books (if you are into books) and catch your favorite flick in a cinema to keep the motivation level high.
Disclaimer: The above mentioned ideas are merely suggestions, and doesn’t guarantee anything. The willingness to stay motivated has to first come from within.
