As a new user, you might be wondering "how manage that your post content upvotes are not going anyway, after days of posting and after 83 vote, it is still $1.65. Stop worrying and read these post. Then update your stategy.

Shhhhhhhh... The whales are watching every content posted.
You might have heard or read about WHALES, DOLPHIN and MINNOWS. Well, in case you haven't or you don't know. Permit me to bring you up to speed about these three individuals:

THE MINNOWS
Just like the name minnow(small fresh water fish) , Steemit minnows are user with small amount of STEEM POWER. According to @crypt0 "they are the average users on Steemit. Perhaps they have already put $10, $20, or even $100-$500 in their steem power to try to gain some weight on their upvote". There minnows vote may add less to your vote. But don't be deceived, because you need alot of them to build your reputation (so that means every individual is important on Steemit). Next on our list are...

THE DOLPHINS
after days of research, I will like to use the definition of the Steemit centre "Dolphins is the term which is generally applied to a steem user who is relatively established on and who has built up around 10-100MVEST (approx. 5000 - 50000SP)". The upvote of the dolphins count. The are like the morning glory. Their reputation score is always around 70 according to @hilarski. You can check majority of dolphins on this post- RISE OF THE DOLPHINS by @hilarski. I recommend this post because it might change your aspect on Steemit as it did mind looking at the SCREENSHOT OF 7 DAYS TRENDING PAGE FROM STEEM WHALES. I found out that it not about following 2000 or more people and not posting or posting millions. But it about making sure you post what count like the top member @kingcrown, it post it just 95 yet it made the top.

THE WHALES
Now these are the boss of bosses. The are the determinant of the flow of voting. The are those that you will like what the like and vote what the vote. And when the flag you your post stay hidden. The determine if your vote will move from NEW to TRENDING or HOT. @dwinblood saw their their glory and testify about them (from $0.00 to $43.00 in one vote). There are not easily moved by you following them. (though that might help), but are moved by the quality of your content.

When whales move, majority of Athenians tap along... Oh yeeeeeh, they are called the WHALES.

Since there are that important and are scares and you really need them. Here are some tips to attract them:
(1) QUALITY CONTENT - try as much as you can to post content that count. Especially content that promote the growth of Steemit.

(2) start a project to improve steem and involve other Athenians in it.

(3) develop software, tools or some valuable resources for the Steemit community.

(4) avoid discriminating. Trust me you don't want to follow this path, because if a whale flag you, your reputation might become negative and your post might be hidden for life.

(5) don't plagiarise. Need not say much because the Steemit community forbid it.

After all these. Your on your way for some nice upvote.
Please if you can comment if you have better idea on how to attract a whale. See you at the top.

Welcome to steemit from @lopezdacruz. All the best in your steemit journey.

I am not a software developer :S

yes, what if we are not software developers? How can we contribute to the Steemit community? I haven't even posted my first post, because I want to do it right!
