Bossy boss: The raised voice edition!

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Everybody has in some sort of way an experience with a strange flaw of your boss / team leader.
There are people who couldn't care less and there are people who are like me... Well not anymore since a year or so!

My team leader or boss as he likes to be called is a very special one.
Imagine this: An ex-military servant who doesn't want to be argued in public and does not, I repeat, does not want your opinion on things because he already made up his mind before he started talking.

Often he comes in the room doing the shout-out to all the people, gets his phone after the message en walks away without any confirmation.
Sounds like a killing combo in the field but not in a office environment where there are no lives on the line.

In this story I will call him my team leader because I hate the word boss! Dogs have bosses and maybe when somebody behaves like a normal person I will call him my team leader but not this one!

Riddle me this: I know something directly from the board of directors which is, at this point, classified as not to be spoken off because the other team leaders are not yet informed.
My team leader comes into the office with his glasses halfway on his nose with a red neck and all wound up and asks me and my other colleagues: Things are not going well here! Who knew about this thing I just heard from the board?
I raised my hand since I knew that he was informed by the board as he had entered the room after a meeting with the board.
Well guess who got a piece of his mind? I did for sure!

In front of my colleagues he began to tell me that I needed to tell him this secret even the board has told me not too.
Stupid as I am I began to explain why he was not aware of this but he interrupts me every single time. He started to raise his voice and became a little angry and from that point he had lost in my eyes.
When someone raises his voice to "overrule" a team member or colleagues I am done with you for the moment.

Call me in your office cubicle and start a normal conversation but in public is not done even without arguing.

Well last year around the same time I got this same experience with this guy and not knowing what I can do about it or maybe it was my fault. I called in sick and ended up with the company doctor and three months off.
With the knowledge I have now I can cope with this man who calls himself "the boss" and I learned my lesson: Never ever argue in a office with your team leader in front of other colleagues!

You're not going to win with this man... Ever!
Are there any fellow Steemians who have this same experience with her of his boss? Or are you all glad that it is not yours?
