RE: Mugsy's guide to making money on steemit for new users (don't be a minnow!)
This is really useful - many thanks.
I had just been asking the Q how to find out how / when your voting power diminishes and that link to steemstats answers it :)
I just saw another post asking whether you should upvote your own comments as this seems to fairly widespread (but seems odd). Do you have any views or findings on this?
Also, if you upvoted a comment (even your own) is it a wasted upvote to upvote the post too (or are they treated as separate pieces of content?)?
It's all quite complicated!
I can't say for absolute certain but based on the way whales exist creating their own content and upvoting it to massive values i would say you surely can upvote your own content and take 75% of the upvote income.
So does it work that comments are treated as piece of content in their own right (like posts) for the purposes of voting / curating?
They certainly are almost identical as far as i can tell. My best income to date is a $6 upvote i got commenting on somebodies video. At the time i didn't even know that was a thing :)
Ha! Well that was a nice way to find out :)
Appreciate your help
