Steemit Update [ June 21st, 2024 ] : Steemit Engagement Challenge - Applications Invited for Season 19
We hope you have all been enjoying Season 18 of the Steemit Engagement Challenge which is coming to an end shortly.
Season 19 of the Challenge will be starting in early July.
Applications are now invited for the new season.
For this 19th round we have decided to experiment with a bit of a new format.
Teaching Teams
For Season 19 we want to try something new.
Three of the slots will be allocated to Communities who should produce weekly challenges as usual. Additionally we want to recruit two or three Teaching Teams.
These Teaching Teams will operate more like the Crypto Academy.
Each Team will cover a particular subject area such as photography or crochet or baking or spreadsheets or electronics.
During Season 19 they will be expected to deliver a lesson in their subject area each week with a corresponding homework task. The six weekly lessons should ideally form a cohesive course in their subject area.
The Team will then review and grade participants’ homework posts.
Each team should consist of a lead Professor and one or two Teaching Assistants to help with the homework marking.
All team members should have an in-depth knowledge of their subject area, ideally at a professional or experienced hobbyist level.
Teaching Teams do not have to be associated with any particular community. Homework posts from students following each course do not need to be posted in a particular community and can instead be tracked through the use of appropriate tags.
How to Apply for Season 19
We are inviting applications from both Communities and from Teaching Teams.
Communities should apply as normal with an application post including…
- the purpose and brief history of their community
- a list of all Founders, Administrators, and Moderators
- details of their community curation account, how it is being built up, and who holds the Master, Owner and Active keys
- details of the community’s current policy for checking and commenting on posts
- details of how the community helps members improve the quality of their posts.
We are particularly looking for Communities who can offer creative, interesting and inspiring Challenges. To demonstrate this, Communities should include in their application three example challenges that they will use if they are selected.
Teaching Teams should similarly make an application post including…
- the subject area they want to cover
- details of the Professor and the Teaching Assistants including their experience in the subject area be it professional or hobbyist
- three examples of the weekly lessons they would include in their course.
Team members should have a minimum of 1000 SP of their own and a minimum reputation of 65.
Each Teaching Team should have a combined Steem Power total of at least 15,000 SP.
There are no restrictions about nationality or language or community affiliations.
The only restriction on participation will be that people cannot be both in a Teaching Team and in the Moderation team of a selected community.
Application posts should also contain the contact details (Telegram/Discord) of at least two members of the Teaching Team or the Community.
Posts should be submitted by 11:59 pm UTC, on Friday, June 28th, 2024.
For Community applications the posts should be made on the community account and include the tag #engagementapplication in the first four tags.
For Teaching Team applications the posts should be made on the Professor’s account and include the tag #teachingteam in the first four tags.
Checking & Grading Posts
The Communities and Teaching Teams selected for Season 19 should ensure they promptly check and comment on all posts for their weekly contests and lessons.
The minimum they should check for are plagiarism, AI content generation and bot use.
To help @steemcurator01 and @steemcurator02 to curate the posts more effectively Community Mods and Teaching Teams should use a clear, simple, and easy-to-read comment format.
Community Beneficiaries
Please note that the selected communities should not make setting a beneficiary to any related community account obligatory for anyone to enter the Challenge contests.
Selection of Weekly Winners
Each week we would like all Challenge communities and Teaching Teams to make a post announcing the three people who have performed the best both through their own post submissions and through their engagement with others.
We will leave it to each community or Teaching Team to decide how they select their weekly winners, but they should include in their announcement posts a brief summary of their selection process.
All the weekly winners, as well as the announcement posts, will receive extra prize votes from @steemcurator01.
Communities should post on their community accounts, Teaching Teams should post on the Professor’s account with beneficiaries shared with their teammates.
The weekly announcement posts are rewarded with substantial votes from @steemcurator01.
We are looking forward to reading all your applications.
This new format will be very much an experiment and we will be keen to hear feedback on how it works.
We hope it will bring added interest and more purpose to the Engagement Challenge.
Thank you
The Steemit Team
Holder of an in-depth research master's degree in computer science, I am interested in programming courses in web development, SQL and Python.
My courses would cover the basics of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP, creating interactive and dynamic websites. In SQL, I would cover the introduction to relational databases, writing and optimizing queries, and the use of MySQL. In Python, courses would include programming basics, object-oriented programming, Pandas and NumPy libraries, development with Django and Flask, and task automation.

Daily steemit is really mind blowing 🤯🤯
Indeed!!
In the past few weeks there have been new things, and I really like them too. 🫡🫰
Buenos dias equipo @steemitblog ☀
@steemcurator01
Genial 🙂👍
No, I am believing the want start a totally new project, I think this project has nothing to do with any community or its executive. It would be based on different team of expects. I believe steemblog would update us on new lectures and their tags, just has he has been doing.
I think the team are trying to encourage experts to start hosting lectures on steemit, making the platform not only where you share ideas but where you can learn innovative and awesome skills.
This would attract not only content creators but also it would attract individuals who are hungry for knowledge to the platform, I want to say kudos to the team for been innovative.
It would be just like other contest but the difference is that anyone can participate from any community on steemit, probably using specific tags to submit assignments.
Mi querido amigo... ¿Leíste bien la pregunta?
The specific question: Should the selected teachers not have a moderation role in any community or should they only have no link with the 3 selected communities?
This is the real question.
@steemcurator01, @steemitblog
😂 😂 yes I did
Thats what I am saying, it doesn't matter if your community was selected or not as long as you are qualified to join a teaching team, you are free apply for a teaching team.
Moreover how on earth would you know you are part of selected communities when they application for both engagement Communities and Teaching Teams are done at same time.
In summary an admin who is good at photography can apply for a teaching team as long as he/she is qualified, even if her community has been selected for engagement.
Note, just writing from my point of understanding. Thanks 👍🏼
😂 😂
From there, precisely from there, the question arises 😂 😂
When translating a text into another language, it often comes out incorrect, and it can be interpreted differently. It’s challenging for someone who is a moderator of a community and aspires to be a teacher to know if they qualify for the position. However, if selected:
Will the teacher be able to rate posts in the community where the teacher is a moderator?
Does the teacher have to give up the role of moderator if their community is selected for the SEC?
I hope that this time, the questions to be clarified are more specific.
Yes that's true friend, that is really disturbing. Someone said I insulted her because her translator translated wrongly but thank God someone else told her to change her translator 😂😂.
😂 😂 😂, they team didn't force anyone to join a teaching team. While some are too busy other are less busy and that's why the required steempowers and reputation is low.
Some people have the strength to do it moreover they are sec moderators that are steem Rep and still community curators. In my opinion it would be lovely to see people without much job on steemit take the position.
In summary I wish everyone luck and success 🙏🏼
Sería interesante acudir a tus clases de HTML, CSS y JavaScript. Si te esfuerzas se que harás un gran trabajo para enseñarnos a todos lo que sabes!
don't be too mean to your students, friend.🌸🤗🤫🤗 te deseo lo mejor 🤞
If I get the opportunity, it would be a great honor having you as my student 😉
No friend I won't do such thing, I would pamper all my students but my assignments would be really practical 😂 and tough
😂😂😂😂
I agree with you, bro.
Me too
Is very complex issue bro 😁😁

I am a child of a farming family. All my ancestors earned their livelihood by doing agricultural work. Agriculture is the primary occupation of the people of the world.
I have been growing fruit in our small plot for five long years. I can definitely teach what I have learned and experienced here during these five years. We must learn something from which it is possible to profit financially and then become a sheel. So I chose #Gardening and #Cultivate subject. If anyone agrees with me, feel free to contact me.
Here are some diary entries about my garden
I love your aspect of agriculture bro 😁

Thank you for this new update & experiment for engagement challenge season 19. We are excited for this. But we have seen good experts in art & drawing in our community so, we will be glad to know about it. Other topics are also interesting as many people will share their experience & show their skills. Best of luck to all the communities & I hope we will get a chance this month.
From the onset I have been a fan of teaching on steemit, mod of SIz, skill, steem education and steem alience know this.
As a graduate in computer science, I would love to educate on web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, mysql, with a touch of python programming), I would be honored to join any interester individuals.
This is one of the best 😍😍 projects, I have been waiting for the this for a long period of time.
I can't hold it any longer, I just over love Steemit heart ❤️.

Photographing is a major factor that encompasses steemit. Everyday, we take pictures exclusively and reluctantly for the post. I think bringing photographing and edits into the spotlight will help steemians not just here but in the real world have a skill they can be called for in events, contracts etc without necessarily spending money to learn.

Thank you for this important announcement. I'm glad to see that we're continuing to regular Steemit Engagement challenges with very interesting changes to make progress in learning and teaching various subjects like photography, baking, crochet, electronics, and more.
Can Art or Drawing be a part of this? If it's possible, I would feel honored to share my services as an art expert and contribute to this endeavor.
I believe there are still many people on Steemit who are interested in learning art, and there are experts who can share their skills and expertise.
Thank you
