Street Painters In Michigan Make It Clear This Not Their Problem
It seems the people in charge of painting lines on rural Michigan streets were a bit tired last week.
Rather than moving a smushed opossum out of the road, they apparently figured it would just be easier to slap a streak of yellow paint on its mangled corpse and move along.
The poor critter was photographed by Ionia resident Polly Misner as she drove along highway M-44.
“Seriously?” Misner wrote in a now-viral Facebook post. “I have seen Memes about this but I never really thought they were true…But guess what? they do paint over dead animals..”
While some might be upset by this display of government neglect, Misner appreciated the taste of local flavor.
“I had to take a picture,” she wrote. “Michigan is awesome!”
“Winners of the not my job award,” one commenter declared.
“How is this funny?” asked an overly sensitive person. “This is a poor animal that is dead and someone was stupid enough to just paint a line on him.”
Perhaps the more respectful option would have been to swerve, like some other painters did for this tree branch:
And…um…that’s about all there is to say about this important breaking news.
Now please enjoy these oddly satisfying videos of street line painters who are actually good at their jobs:
