So before I get into it, let me give you a back story about me. I’m a 26 year old Mechanical engineer who is still searching for a job. I had quite a bad past because of my major accident just before my finals in my 2nd year engineering and lost 2 years of my academics because of it. And because of these setbacks i wasn’t able to find myself a job in my field. Personally I’m totally ok with waiting for that one job I really want and be happy than just jumping on a job I don’t really like and regret. I did have a lot of opportunities to do just that as I got placed via campus in 2 MNCs but they weren’t my field so i didn’t go ahead with them. I chose to keep searching.

I’m a guy in his mid-20s without a job and that sort of thing is frowned upon in the society. And I’m that sort of a person who wants to stand on his own two feet and don’t like asking parents money for my everyday living. So life before Steemit was quite….. constrained for lack of a better term.

I got introduced to Steemit mid 2016 by my good friend @firepower. But I didn’t join rite away, i don’t want to give any excuses as to why I didn’t join because those excuses hold no value, I should have just done it. But I joined almost a year later in June 2017. Late by a year, a point which @firepower is going to always rub on my face, probably for the rest of my life :D. After joining I didn’t really know what to write as I’m not much of a word smith, but then I gave it a shot anyway as I had nothing to loss and boy am I glad I did. I am a photographer by hobby and I have been doing free photo shoots since almost 7 years and it hit me that I could base my writing around the pictures I clicked all these years. So I started doing brief write ups describing the photos I had clicked and I haven’t stopped ever since. After a while of writing, I’m enjoying the benefits now, so to speak.

When I say enjoying, what I mean is though I’m a still searching for a job I’m financially free. In today’s world people do say money isn’t everything but trust me, it is. So to get that financial freedom even without a job is something really satisfying. And that’s what SteemIt has given me, the freedom to just go out and not worry about not having enough pocket money. A piece of mind.
That is what steemit is all about, to give that financial power to every individuals out there who are just suffering from financial difficulties because they aren’t able to find a job. Conventional jobs in today’s market is very hard. There are more number of graduated every year passing out than there are job openings out there in the world today. The competition is getting tougher and tougher to get into the corporate world. Take it from me, I have been job hunting since I passed out and that was in mid-2016.
I recently had word with @firepower regarding the future in steemit. And he has a vision to encourage everyone that he can to get into steemit because this is the best way for everyone to come out of their financial difficulties in a legit way and live a better or more peaceful life and be your own boss. That was the point he put across and I back him up totally on this. How awesome would it be if no one had financial troubles?
I’m not saying you will be able to afford a Lamborghini rite away but enough to not worry about petty stuff which we do in our day to day life and that would just be the beginning.

On Steemit, consistency is the key. You are on steemit, that’s the first step. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t make any money right away, just keep at it and keep uploading your articles and pictures and eventually you will get there and then you will just keep climbing. Remember, what comes easy never lasts.

Be patient, be consistent and most of all….be happy.
Isn’t happiness what we all seek for at the end of the day?
