I HAVE BECOME A TOTALLY INHIBITED SIFTER
Since I started posting more stuff on my new account @frot it has really hit home just how inhibited I've become on this one. I'm now a conservative old fart, too scared to burp, fart, scratch my nuts, or say fuck. (or post any strange pics)
Here are three things I've become too inhibited to do on this account:
To let go of my role playing as a good Steemian.
Yes I've been here for two years. But lets face it, things have changed, many of the people I used to hang out with have disappeared, most of my 1840 odd followers are probably bots, and I don't have a chance in hell of getting a decent payout without using a bunch of other bots. (And that time I got $400 for a post is ancient history!)
The upside to all this is that if I don't have to be on my best behavior to win friends and influence people, I might as well stop doing that and just post whatever shit I want to.

Now I don't just mean that lump of crap Alex "the shill" Jones - I mean nearly the whole frigging lot of it including Qanon, (people seriously believe that shit?) Ben Shapiro (hardcore zionist orthodox jew married to an Israeli), Julian Assange/Wikileaks (take note of what they don't ever mention!), and a vast number of the posts on Steemit under the tag "informationwar".

To make a real fresh start.
Truth is I've never been able to really do it on this account. After two years on Steemit I feel like I've built up a massive history. And in a way I have. But like a lot of people who have been here two years I'd like to take what I've learned, press reboot and start again without all the old school rules in my head.
This new Steemit is a different place - sometimes I wish I could press reboot on Steemit itself and go back to the 2017 one, but I can't...
I never planned to do this, but lately I'm getting the feeling I might just switch over to mostly being @frot on Steemit rather than @sift666. Sort of a personality reboot.

Taking stock of my @sift666 account, I now realise that my heroic 64 rep can be surpassed, that my hundreds of old posts are actually bloody hard to search through, and that most of those 1840+ followers are not really very close friends (but many thanks to the ones who actually are). The part that I value most is the "Joined August 2016" start date and my new account doesn't have that. But does anyone else ever notice those dates anyway?

I agree Steem is a bit stagnant at this point and that many things have added to the stagnant atmosphere. Including a current issue in society that we are not supposed to disagree, and if we do disagree I must shun you. Not ask you questions to try to understand your position, I totally should just be offended that you do not think exactly how I think.
Compound that with a few hands controlling most of the "Stake" and they inactive and don't seem to actually want to work on building the platform, they conform to the idea "If you build it, they will come", but that is only true if you need or want what they built.
As for you being bored, that is an emotion, a feeling state that can be altered. It's yours to own, you don't get to throw it on anyone else.
When the interest in Crypto picks up, Steem will pick up.

I thought long and hard about investing on here, though besides the things I stated above, I will list a few more.
No big investor will come here when they can face scenarios as above, plus if they vote on other peoples posts, like haejin, or any of his many enemies, knowingly or not, and the posts get downvoted, once again said investor losing his interest.
I have no answers on how to fix this place, though eh! I never made it like it is, you guys did, and long before I got here at xmas gone by.

Eh, who knows. I agree we are mostly going to ride the wave of crypto at this point, we bob up and down with the overall market.
We are not creating end user, loyalty, we are not rewarding excellent content, it is mostly a bid bot game at this point. While I am not morally opposed and I think they have their place, it doesn't encourage new users to stay, unless and except those who want to withdrawl.
I don't know how we will do long term. One of the reasons I hold Steem instead of other tokens is that my Steem earns Steem. I hold BNB, and the number I hold stay static. Here, we move up and down with the market, plus I can use the token to earn more tokens. That is pretty cool.
If you don't enjoy it here, the competition is coming and I think that is good! Go try it out.
For over 20 years sites have been trying to monetize content, It is a difficult thing, content really holds very little value.
