Hello guys, my name is Shady and thank you so much for stoping on this blog post. Steemit is a great place for you to grow online. You want to grow, you want to get bigger, however, there are three things that you could be doing that might be hurting your Steemit account. Find out what the top three mistakes that new Steemers make..

Today, we are going to talk about the top 3 mistakes that new Steemers make. And those mistakes really damage their profile, their reputation, impede their growth, prevent them from getting followers, upvotes, re-steems, etc.,. These three mistakes, if you're making them, they could be costing you lots. More than you even know. So, what are they? Here we go...

INTRODUCTION POST
Not writing a good introduction post. That is the number one mistake that new Steemers make. When you join Steemit, you need to write an introduction post. The reason is because tons of other people are looking at those posts to look and see how, and who, and what is going on in there. And if you write a great post that captivates the audience, that has some pictures, it has a lot of text, it's got some links in it, it's resourceful, and not just a picture of you, "hi, I'm on Steemit." That's bleh. Nothing. You know, nobody wants that post. People want nice posts that tell us about you. We want to know who you are. Why did you join Steemit?
What are you doing in life? What are you going to do on Steemit? Are you just going to post a bunch of random pictures of your dog? We don't care. Are you going to post some nice pictures of your dog, and how you and your dog go through life together, and you're going to tell us about it? Then we might care. Because that could be interesting. But if you're just going to post pictures of whatever you decide to do every day, are you at the store, are you here? That's boring. But if you're going to post and you're going to tell us about your experiences, Then we like that. So tell us what you're going to do on Steemit because people will follow you based on your introduction post. That's mistake number 1.

REGULARITY
Many people do not post regularly. This is so important on Steemit. If you want to generate a blog following, you need to put out content for your people to follow. If I follow you, I want to hear about what's going on. I want to know that you're going to post on a consistent basis so that I can count on reading your post. If I follow you, obviously I'm probably getting some form of enjoyment out of your posts. Otherwise, I wouldn't be following you. So if you post regularly, now you increase my enjoyment level because I can read more of your posts. Then, you're going to get more follows, you're going to get more upvotes, and you're going to get more people re Steeming your posts. That is super important.
So post regularly. Now, what does that mean? How often is regular? It doesn't matter as long as it's consistent. I'd recommend, obviously the ideal thing is if you could post every day. Not everybody can post every day. But if they do, then they post crappy content. They post a picture, they post this, that's garbage. Don't post that, it hurts you. Post good content as often as you can. Now that means several words, maybe 500 to a thousand or more. Post regularly, it will really help you on Steemit. If you can't, try to shoot for every 3 days, you write a post, and fill in the gaps with re-Steeming some high-quality articles.

COMMENTING
New Steemers make is not writing good comments. Comments are so important on Steemit. How else can you find out about other things or can other people find out about you? Now, it doesn't mean spamming all the comments with your links and crazy thoughts. No, It means adding value to comments. And if somebody has written about something related to you, you could link them to one of your posts. If somebody is writing or is interested in something that you have written about or you are doing, link to them. Don't spam them all over. And also, oftentimes, write some comments that don't have links in them. Add some value. Do half-and-half, roughly. Half could be links that come back to you and half will just be general comments with no nothing. Nothing back to you except valuable information, which will build your credibility.

So those are the top three mistakes that new Steemers make. If you're making them, stop making them. Try to correct it. If you're not making them, see how you can improve on doing them. Once again, not writing an introduction post, not posting regularly, and not writing good comments. So if you can do the opposite of those three things, which means you need to post an introduction post, you need to post regularly, and you need to write good comments, you will be set up for some great success on Steemit. If there are any other mistakes that you noticed that new Steemers are making, post them in the comments below. In addition, if you have any advice for new Steemers, post it in the comments below. And read other people's comments. It's all about making information known to you so you can have the tools and information you need to make informed decisions about the things you need to be successful online.

I would say, do more research before You jump into it. I mean, steemit is fascinating place. To discover, explore, new ways of using steem, all the projects going on. I got ideas too, but didn't know all the rules and got burned. Mayby one of new people mistakes is getting discouraged if not succeed at first or as quick. Its more like evolution, You can't avoid all the mistakes, in fact, You need them to adjust and evolve, so You NEED to jump in and learn as You go, but at the same time, You can avoid some by researching, asking questions at communities chats. Many communities here got chats channels on discordapp.com. Get a mentor, get a role model, and get a good "why" and a good main motto, for example: "secret to living is giving".

yeah @planktongrow! exactly, as you start going ahead and do your stuff you will automatically come to know about what is best for you and whats not. Cheers!
