If Steemit is the Facebook Killer, then the LBRY Platform is the Youtube killer
What is the LBRY platform?
If you haven’t yet heard about the LBRY platform (https://lbry.io/get?r=Ix64N) you’re not alone. Essentially, it’s a platform that aims to reward both creators and consumers of video content monetarily, in the form of LBRY Credits.
So it’s a platform similar to Youtube except where users get paid.
There are no middlemen, no adverts and no censorship.
How do you use it?
So if you’re an independent filmmaker and want to get paid from people watching your film, you can upload it and set a price for viewing it in LBRY Credits. Of course, you don’t have to set a price at all.
You can also get paid for consuming video content. For example, when a film production company wants to promote their new release and they arrange to reward people who view their trailer.
That’s right, you can currently earn money simply for watching movie trailers on the LBRY platform.
When you successfully complete a task such as watching a trailer or an advertisement you will receive LBRY credits which will then be added to your reward balance.
Why this platform will be a success
For content creators:
If you follow any Youtubers you’ll often hear them complain about how little money they make from Youtube itself, regardless how many subscribers they have. Sure, they often make good money by promoting a product or service to their subscribers but they earn relatively little by having their Google Adsense account linked to their channel. Since there is no direct financial incentive to publish videos on Youtube, I believe the LBRY platform has the potential to take a huge chunk out of Youtube’s share of the online video platforms market.
For content consumers:
Just think about how many people spend hours on their computer watching videos because they’re bored, if you gave them the chance to make money doing that I’m sure they would jump at it.
Consider how big Steemit has been since it launched in BETA, once the LBRY platform moves from its ALPHA testing phase into BETA I expect it will take off in a similar fashion.
If you’re interested in getting early access to the LBRY platform check out the following link:
I've tried getting into their Beta, No success yet... I dont think early access is open yet. Here's my referral link for the beta!

This is the first time hearing about LBRY but I think it could turn into something big. Thanks for putting this out there.
I'm literally trading a 3 XMR for LBRY right now. I'd seen it on coinmarketcap a few times and seen some positive signs from it's charts but I never knew much about it. This post convinced me to look further into it. Thanks @scrilla
