How To Have Awesome Blog Formatting.png

Hey everyone so I have been complemented on my blog style, wording, and formatting. I figured I would share the main things I use to do. It's pretty simple really. A lot of it comes down to the post aesthetics. Obviously the information must be quality, but using headers, a nice cover image, dividers, alignment change-ups, some dynamic activity like a GIF, and ideally a quality and useful signature. So here is all the dividers and GIFs I use or have on hand.

Gifs I've Liked And Saved

These are pretty much just for signatures

Dividers I've Either Made Or Saved

The reason I'm sharing these is simply because a lot of people struggle the most with their post structure and post format. You can have a somewhat shorter post if your signature is quality and useful afterwards. Also using dividers, headers, and different alignments is just good sense in terms of blog etiquette.

The main things you want to have visually for a great post:

  • Catchy Titles
  • Cover / Banner Image
  • Dividers
  • Headers
  • Concise value driven information
  • Screenshots and useful imagery

I want to dive into these on their own so I will do another post momentarily on the where I make all my covers for my post. Feel free to share any cool GIFs and dividers or post formatting images you use in your posts. I am sure there are tons I've missed, but try to share the best of the best!

Every time I post I select 1 random winner from the upvotes, resteems, and comments totaling 3 winners and give them 0.01 SBD each and announce it on the next post! I also send out 0.001 weekly to followers! I use https://snackaholic.github.io/steemfortune/en/

Thanks, @scottcbusiness - again very useful information and tips!
I really like below banner, but how can I be sure the creator agrees it is used in my signature ?

As long as you aren't claiming to have made it, you should be just fine

Valuable content for newbies! If we share knowledge, we learn and grow together...thanks @scottcbusiness

The dividers are really cool! I love the red one for a personal blog, I might use it. I'm still working on my layouts and themes for different kinds of posts. The hardest part is the different steem interfaces sometimes display the coding differently. Dividers are nice because they're the same everywhere. :)

Exactly right! Yeah I'm so used to the writing with <> that when a UI has an updated interface I copy and paste my signature and it's all messed up

This is a nice information, but to someone like me who don't know how to make gifs like that and dividers too, it will be more helpful if I can read the process how to make one here. ;)

I don't know how to make a good GIF per say but the dividers was simple enough, just use one of them already there drop it in photoshop remove the middle logo and replace it with whatever you want and change the colour of the divider

a gif is just a animated set of still images put to a timespan. If you can create the images you want it is really easy to organize them and export it as a GIF. I build Web applications, but I am terrible at creating images myself. Here is some tools, hope you find it helpful! Also I would recomend looking at Blender, but it would not be a great tool for gifs, but is very powerful and useful for creating still shots to build your gifs with.
