How now? Lift-off.

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

How good of an idea is Steemit, right? Everyone get's a fair chance to contribute and earn. But how fair is it?
We all want to see Steemit grow into the massively purposeful platform we envision, are there still improvements we can make? Individually? Collectively?

Personally, I want to promote myself as much as possible and create quality content that puts a smile on the faces of my followers. I'd gladly receive any recommendations of how I can realize this goal. There seem to be many ways to promote posts on this website (through other user accounts {whales}). Should we talk about how we can make sure the steemit platform keeps feeling safe and fair for the average user? We need our userbase to be as strong as possible to grow, so perhaps we should consider looking very carefully at how steemit is distributed. Of course strong programmers should reap rewards from their work, but is there a way to check privilige? (3pc5me?)

So far, I have been writing a bit but mostly I have been resteeming as much content as possible just to get any worthy information out there. Maybe it's good for all to consider toning down on the quantity of our content, and focus as much as possible on the quality. If people are drawn to the the content and value this platform can give to (blockchained) open discussion and sharing, we might all benefit.

Sort:

Steemit is a platform based on people upvoting the posts they like, the competition between authors should be creating good content for the user to review and cast their vote to the one they like the most, until this point everything is fair.

But it can't be as simple as that right ? Of course not, nevertheless, in the bright side, you can still find the same amount of fairness and opportunity in Steemit as you do in the real world, maybe even more so, I think that for "now" is fair enough for 2017, will remain the same in 2018 ? Do you think it is fair that we know about Steemit and most of the world had not clue about it ? What about when Steemit was launched ? Should the creator tell everyone in the planet so everyone get the same opportunities ? Is so, can you even make the world to listen to you ?

It's a tough discussion nobody seems to want to tackle. If people were restricted to one account each, would people be incentivized to up the quality of their posts, drawing more people to the platform? How fair is the voting system truly if the whales of the world basically have free reign to decide what shows up on our feed? Right now Steemit is basically a 'pay to win' game.

interesting post!
