The Minnow Who Cried 'Whale!'

 There once was a minnow who was broke as he sat on his computer writing posts. 

In financial desperation, he took a great breath and sang out, "Whales! Whales! The truth about Whales! "

Fellow Steemians  came running to his post attracted by the possibility of honest criticism of Whales.

 But when they arrived to his post, they found only whale-praise.

The boy laughed at the sight of their angry faces - and cashed out his SBD.

"Don't you bait us, boy," said the Steemians, "when there's only circlejerk!" 

They went grumbling back down the hill.

Later, the boy sang out again, "Whales! Whales! The truth about Whales!"

To his naughty delight, he watched the Steemians run to his post to help his minnow post gain prominence.

When the villagers saw whale praise they sternly said, "Save your clickbait for Buzzfeed! Don't you bait us, boy, when there's only circlejerk!"

But the minnow just grinned and watched his Steem Power grow.

Later, he saw a REAL issue with the conduct of whales.

Alarmed, he leaped to his feet and sang out as loudly as he could, "Whales! Whales! The truth about Whales!"

But Steemians thought he was trying to bait them again, and so they ignored his post.

At sunset, everyone wondered why the minnow wasn't on the front page, as he'd been for the past few days,

They navigated to his Steemit account.

They found his last post had only earned $0.01.

"There really was a whale issue! A true scandal! I cried out, "Whales! Whales! The truth about Whales!" Why didn't you come?"

An old man tried to comfort the minnow as they spoke in 'Robinhood-links' on Steemit.chat

"We'll give you some upvotes in the morning," he said, sending a 'kiss' emoticon to the minnow, "Nobody trusts a minnow who has earned the reputation of producing circlejerk-clickbait...even when decides to write legit posts!"
