No More Tits 'n Travel: The Race for Value!
Note: I don't mean to insult female writers that post about travel. It's just a catchy headline
I created the account @positive roughly three weeks ago, and as I am sure others can attest, the nature of the most popular posts has changed dramatically.
Indeed, a few weeks back, generic travel posts, and introductory posts by women, seemed to attract the bulk of upvotes.
A cursory glance at the 'trending' page should suffice to reassure you that this is no longer the case.
From @dragonho 's 'designer toys'- investment-advice to @pfunk 's poetic photography, I think we can safely say that Steemit's content is becoming increasingly diverse.
And the nature of this diverse content, is of increasingly higher quality.
What's fueling this change?
I imagine users are competing to attract the patronage of whales, by presenting their content as valuable products worth investing in (either through upvotes on a case-by-case basis, or to obtain a position on a valuable botlist).
Perhaps also as the reality of Steemit blogging as a legitimate and viable source of income sinks in, users are investing more time and thought into their work, to protect their source of income.
I personally have never witnessed such rapid growth in the diversity and the value of content produced on any platform - and am stretching my mental legs in preparation for the race to value!
wellcome
I upvoted You
But I like tits!

Note: I am the original @positive, I've sold that account, and will be posting from this one (@satire sounds more appropriate)
