Steemian thoughts #3 -- Is The Steemit System Truly Fair To Everyone?

So for the past few days, I have been looking at different "whale/dolphin" accounts and made a very big discovery. Most of the whales or dolphins upvote other whales or dolphins not so much as they do for the minnows.

When I first heard about steemit I thought

"Wow, finally a place where I can share my content on a system that will appreciate it made by the people for the people"

and to and extent that is true.

However, the more I look into decentralized and centralized regimes, I start to understand the problem isn't in the system: it's in us. Humans by default are tribal creatures optimized to not live in societies bigger than 150 people.

They tend to pick a group and stick to it which has many survival advantages. When you come and apply this concept to almost any system whether it is centralized or not, you start to realize that they pick and favor people over people and thus content over content even if it's not that better than other persons.

For example, If your brother posts an article about let's say "Human evolution" and at the same time another random person posted a similar article better than your brother's that makes more sense with better points, chances are 9 out of 10 people will upvote their brother simply because they're family even though the other content is better.

Now, of course whales aren't family, they are more life friends or a "tribe ", but you can apply this idea to steemit. I'd have to say a lot of the posts you see on trending don't really deserve to be there.

Good posts for sure, but do you really think some guy talking about how Steemit will grow slowly and steadily deserves 800 STU on their post? ( NOT pointing to a single post/creator) NO, no they don't. I have seen a lot of minnows who wrote posts that deserve way more than the 0.01 that they got. People that deserve to be on trending or at least hot.

Someone that put a ton of work into a post should AT LEAST be repaid for it. The issue is no one is doing anything to help these minnows out. Voting bots repay you back what you gave them if not less as a vote and aren't really that effective, because most people who start out don't have 10, 20, or 30 SBD to put into these services which is the minimum to make any profit of boosters or to have a tip jar effect.

Thing like @curie work using a system of curators which is a good idea and has a positive impact, but for the most part it's not enough to expose those extraordinary creators out there that grind day in and day out.

When I first came here on Steemit I believed it was a system that will bring justice to the thousands of good creators that are underpaid, however with the current situation I'm afraid that steemit isn't the great platform that it I thought it was and should be.

It's only benefiting those people who are already on the top or with money to invest in Steemit with out giving a fair chance to the fresh comers, aka the ones that we truly need to be focusing on because they are what is keeping this boat afloat and turning it into a a ship.

I wanted to talk about this subject today because I never see anyone talk about this nor mention it. I hope you understand where I am coming from and I TRULY hope this gets better over time.
