Steemit #1: Upgrade proposal to add a "Channel feature"

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

We are a group of Informatics and Matematicians who like to share our knowledge with other people interested in IT, Math and Cryptography.

Steemit seems to us a great opportunity to share high quality content, so it's really fit for e-learning purposes.

In our opinion, it could be a great idea to add a "CHANNEL FEATURE". So, users proposing different courses or who just like to write about separate topics could organize their content into channels. And other users could decide to follow just one channel or another, based on their interest.

For example this could be useful if:

  1. some University or association publishes its lessons on Steemit for different courses (i.e. History and Math). Of course, there will be people interested to follow just one of them. With channels they could subscribe just to one course.
  2. some user likes both photography and cooking and decides to share both its photos and recipes on Steemit. He could create two dedicated channels. And some users could follow just its recipes channel

This could be important in Steemit because it's not like Twitter where reading posts takes just a few seconds since they are short. And force people to follow all other users content could make difficult to isolate the topics that they found really interesting. For example, It could be really difficult to follow one e-learning course if the association is proposing different courses contemporarily.

Let us know what you think about it!

That would be great! In addition it could be useful to be able to save content . Sometimes I find interesting articles, but I have no chance to read it immediately and then I'm not able to find it again.
