I've witnessed several people start with no investment and through a lot of hard work have built their account value and followers up considerably. There is a learning curve to the STEEM network. So it may take a bit of time to soak it all in.
Also, read the STEEM bluepaper. It is a quick read. STEEM is more than just a social network platform.

I'm not scared. I've recently found Steemit and I love it.
Now I need to learn how to make content that will grab attention and give me some momentum in the steemit community.
