The biggest motivation on Steemit: Caring
People start things that seem fun to them. Take Steemit, a lot of people are attracted to it, but at least 30% of all the new people will quit. They think it’s all fun and easy and free money. But that doesn’t keep you motivated. The good things don’t come easy! In the blogpost I will go deeper into the art of motivation and caring on Steemit.
All you need to have is ONE single person that cares
It’s manageable to have one person
Everyone sets goals for themselves. Perhaps your goal is getting 500+ followers or hitting that mark of $100+ on a post. Or perhaps a certain amount of likes. But if this is your goal, you will crash and be demotivated to go further in the long run.
But what can keep you motivated? Well you have to find that one person that really cares. That read your blogposts, comments on them and makes you feel appreciated. That’s doable right? Just 1 person instead of 50. Well, in fact it’s harder than you think. You have to connect on so many levels with each other and have that real click. But you will get there for sure!
One person, One success, A lot of motivation
It’s true. When one person really cares about something you write or do, it’s really motivating. You’ve managed to write about something that has touched someone and can go forward with that knowledge. It’s someone you don’t know in real life, but believes in you and what you do.
When you f*ck up, when you fail or just don’t see it happen anymore and want to walk away, you can look back on that one time, that one person that made the difference for the both of you and think back about that ‘win’.
I truly believe that the biggest reason people quit is that they think nobody cares and is gonna care anymore. They think that if they stop with it, no one will notice and they will fade away.
“The motivation to get more than one person to care comes from that one person. It’s your motivating force and that will push you further.
Your posts won’t be in vain
The thing that’s always on your mind when you write about something is that when you put it online, nobody will respond. You will lose that motivation when you don’t get a real care from someone and you just wait.
I had that same problem. My voice was getting lost in the empty void and nobody really cared. I found my muse, not yet on Steemit but in real life. The one that motivates me to keep blogging, to share knowledge and one day someone will care.
If people didn’t respond or upvoted my post, my reaction would be to delete it. I just hated it and wanted to erase it. Why did no one liked it? My first posts here managed to get $0,04. While I was driven by money when I started, I realised this isn’t a good motivation. The people are!
You can ask for feedback
Feedback is one of the most important things we need while blogging. You can think its great but someone else will point out the flaws. You are in your own world when you write and tend to forget stuff. Honest feedback will help you get better. Just imagine how much you can learn from others!

I honestly can't complain about the 30% that quit because it doesn't live up to their expectations....makes more room in my feed for engaging, interesting people :)
You're absolutely right! I do like the growth of Steemit, but losing people that don't care doesn't make me lose sleep haha. When they quit, you will see more quality content as well ;)
Hey i am a good example of what you suggest in this post. Luckily for me i found that one person the day i made my introduction post here on steemit. His name is @joeyrocketfilms He upvoted my #introduceyourself post and told me he loves my writing style and believes i will do well here. Though he wasn't a whale yet but he gave me his best.
Always upvoting and responding to all my posts and we chat almost daily on discord which he opened my eye to. I think that single motivation had kept me going on until yesterday when a whale noticed me and gave me a upvote plus started following me.
Though i am still striving for success here as a 19 year old but at this point i know things can only get better.

I completely agree with this. You know it doesn't really matter if you have a lot of followers or that you follow a lot of people (exceeding 1000). I honestly don't understand how you can keep up with all the posts on your feed.
I have around 600 followers and only 30 or 40 upvote and read my posts. That is motivation enough for me to continue everyday.

Exactly ;) A few loyal followers are better than 500+ casual followers. Those loyal followers keep you going ;)
Thanks for the inspiration! I personally started Steemit because I like to tell stories. Fortunately there were followers who commented on my stories from the very beginning. Getting recognized givesva warm feeling👍
I think in this sense, if we all focused more on supporting others than ourselves, we'd all end up doing better.
Exactly that! If people just try to help each other it would be way better for everyone. Don't think in money but in helping.
