Can Steemit be used to store evidence?

I'm working on creating a tool to help injured people. The tool will need to post evidence in a distributed, censorship resistant way. Would Steemit be useful to store and present such evidence?

For example a case where police have attempted to murder me. Would a government be able to suppress my speech on this platform?
