[Hip-Hop|Jazz] Dope Playlist: Part 1

in #steemit7 years ago

.
Welcome to my first issue of the Dope Playlist. Music has to be one of those. THOSE. No words or typing should be needed to describe or illustrate it. So as I go further into the post, You'll get more Music and less Me chatting about. Hope you guys enjoy, and if you're loving the concept or my personal taste, don't hesitate to follow me as more will be coming (My Dope playlist has about 200 tracks if not more). I'm also a producer and will let you know more about this part at the end.

1 -Goldlink - Meditation ft. Jazmine Sullivan, KAYTRANADA

_ Goldlink is lit. Not because he's black, or because he's starting to be real famous. But because he's so unique. His Rap is so atypical but flows so perfectly on one of my favourite beats ever. If you know Kaytranada, you must know his First Album, 99.9% (ignoring his beat tapes, etc..). If you have listened to it, you must know "Track Uno", the… First Track (no shit!) and its short Outro. Well Meditation basically is the result of an artist jokingly ripping of another's work, and only AFTER getting in contact with the artist. Honestly, Kaytranada and Goldlink have a hilarious relationship.

.
2 - A$AP Rocky - Long Live A$AP

_This one is a gem. Lyrical, Soulful. The beat is empowering and hits clean. It's both Psychedelic and Classical. With Guitar and Choir samples and a reverbfull Bass, he depicts an angelic picture. And it all finishes perfectly with the production
.
3 - Joey Bada$$ - Christ Conscious

_In my opinion, you can't make a Hip-Hop Playlist without at least a Joey Bada$$ Track in it. Christ Conscious is visually insane, lyrically insane. Just a banger. Joey always keeps up to the hype around him, and I'm expecting big from him in 2018. He's already released 2 tracks since January, and his Record Label and Team, Pro Era started off the year Ablaze!
.
4 - J. Cole - False Prophets

_J. Cole is undeniably in the Top 5 best Rappers as of today. Where most opinions place him in the top 3 with Kendrick and Drake, I'd say he's top 3 with Kendrick... not Drake. False Prophets wasn't part of his 2017 Album, but rather was aiming to advertise his project (it was released a few weeks if not months ahead. The track wasn't added to the album as it doesn't follow its story, but rather is just an open letter to nowadays rappers (=trappers).
.
5 - Jaden Smith - Icon

_Jaden is underrated. Jaden is a lot of things, and isn't a lot of thing. But over everything that you see on Internet: Jaden is underrated! Not fame wise (the name serves him well), but talent wise (imo). Money does pay you the best producers, but you need the taste. He might not be lyrically challenging compared to big names like Kendrick, but classify him in the Trap generation, and he has a sweet spot where he hits all notes: Soul, Vibe, Hype, Groove, while arrogantly Rapping .
.
6 - FKJ & Masego - Tadow

_FKJ is one of the most diverse and multi-talented artists I know of as he can play most instruments you can think of. While Masego is the king of soul right now. His Vibe and Sa/Drum skills are impressive enough to melt into this 8 minutes long freestyle. Of course, this is only one within many of FKJ's live musical feats, which you'll find on his channel.
.
7 - Erick The Architect - Fruit Fruit Punch In Bora Bora-

_Erick, producer and rapper, part of Flatbush Zombies (A famous brooklyn Rap Trio) will shock your soul. I'm used to listening to him within the Hip-Hop realm, but this really recent sketched-up, vibrant music video teases his solo album coming out in 2018. It both marks his step to diversify into more genres and solidifies his intent to forge a name for himself.
.
8 - Saba - There you Go

_Saba has to be one of my favourite rappers of 2017. His 2016 LP "The Bucket List" was vibrant, lyrical, soulful, and packaged in such a fluent way. I'm expecting a lot from him in the upcoming years as he gains more fame, and gets access to more resources, thus enabling him to fully depict the vision he wants to share. There You Go came out as a post-album single, but still has a similar vibe to his project.

Here we come to the end of this post. If you've made it through, you must have a similar taste to mine. So here's an advice from me. Follow, Like, Repost. Support me, because I'll be hanging around more and more as I gain impact on this platform. I'm hoping one day to have a weekly Steemit Routine based of Discussions about various subjects I'm curious about, Live Streams where I'll be producing and helping out starting producers if the demand is there, and of course posting about My Favourite music and my own creations.Of course, if you disagree with one of my picks, or you want to recommend something that would fit along, please take your keyboards and have fun in the comments! Hope you the best, Keep it living Hot!
