Just when you think its ok!

Wow! What a week here in the wonderdul world of steemit. In 5 long days we have all come to learn about resource credits. Now I will have to tell you that, I personally have not seen any good with the RC's so far.

I mean lets face it, resource credits basically shut down steemit for 5 days. Then they rolled out the patch and everything was looking better. Steemnit is back operating at somewhat of a normal pace. Then this happens....

Now I do not want anyone to think this is a rant about blocktrades. I Have used them for over a year, from buying steem to using their delgation services to withdrawing steem. Never once have I had an issue with them, yea sometimes I feel like the fees are a little high, but lets face it over all they are a top notch exchange.

Until the RC Monster got em.

Now you can send them steem and echange it for bitcoin, litcoin or any other crypto they offer. You can not how ever buy steem from them! Thats right you can not buy steem from them, or should I say you can buy it but you wont get it until @blocktrades has enough RC'S to send it to you.

So at a time when steem is struggling, we are allowing people to pull steem off of the platform but they cant invest in the platform. THIS IS NOT GOOD FOR STEEMIT. Come on guys cant we get this shit together blocktrades is currently sitting at a negative 386,372b resource credits. Now they are telling everyone who has sent a trasaction to them to buy steem that it will be Monday before you will recieve your steem. My question to @blocktrades is how? How will you be able to send out all the steem you owe by Monday? Now unfortunately I made a purchase with @blocktrades before the message was put onto their website. My advice to any steemian is this, do not buy any steem from blocktrades unless you have checked their website first.

Again this is not a rant about @blocktrades, hell they are just another victim of Resource Credit. But when you cant power up on a platform that is currently suffering because all other major exchanges have steem suspended, you kinda have to depend on @blocktrades.

So I know that @blocktrades will make right on what they owe, but we all know in this crazy world, cryptos value can change dramatically in seconds. So every second is critical when you do not have what you paid for.

Unfortunately, I will not get a response from @blocktrades, yeah they wont be able to answer or vote this post, remember they dont have any resource credits.

Well thats enough for now. Maybe one of the awesome devs from steemit should figure out how you can delegate resource credits, since they seem to be worth more than steem.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sort:

1 I agree HF20 has been a mess.
2 The RC calculations are causing a lot of trouble. I thought RC was similar to bandwidth, which was not good for newbies. Otherwise, bandwidth didn't affect me.
Now, it seems this RC stuff is designed to limit activity.

3 If this caused trouble for blocktrades, due to high activity, then it will affect Bittrex and Binance also, which explains why they are still suspended.
4 if 3 is correct, then HF20 was designed to limit and suspend the exchanges. This doesn't make sense.

This might actually be at least partially blocktrades fault. They have been claiming new accounts and might have run themselves into debt by inadvertently spending too much RC on them.

This is a related post that touches on the issue :-

No doubt it is, they also ran a half price delgation sale that I am sure ate up some of their rc's. Thanks for the link I will check it out.

They were doing this after the fork, or prior?

I love blocktrades. Just trying to get clear on the situation here.

I think they have always been buying accounts, before and after the fork.

I believe this was after the fork. Probably even after we all had our RCs topped back up.

I can't say with any certainty though without doing the research myself to confirm so you should consider my comments purely speculation at this point.

Holy shit Ray. That is a complete disaster!!!!!

Hope and prayers is what I got now🤣🤣

Thanks for the Newsflash Ray I still don't really understand RC's but I've been posting fine so hopefully it all gets ironed out asap I'm sure this will soon be sorted out, resteeming now 👊

Thanks for resteem Owen😎👍

Thanks for the info @raybrockman. This is so nut's, I normally EVERY month buy some Bitcoin on Coin base pro and send to Bittrex/Binance and trade for Steem and send to my Steemit. I can not do this because they are down and now Blocktrades is out of RC!!!!!! This is so bad for Steemit, I think the witnesses need to jump on this. I also believe that the witnesses need to post updates for us regularly. They need to be more transparent, now more than ever ! I think that we are/will recover from this but HF20 took a MAJOR chunk out of my growth in steemit. Hell, I killed my SP delegation because I couldn't do anything. In a week I will try to put some back but I have no idea how much I need to keep un-delegated just to be able to post. I also don't know if RC affects the mana to vote and it's recovery. I really am in the dark, and it really makes me mad! Lets not let this happen again!

resteemed maybe someone will learn from this!

Does anyone know if you have more SP does your Voting regenerate faster???? I know More SP affects RC

I do not believe the recover faster, just believe you have more according to your SP

I did some crude testing with a minnow, voting recovery of 94SP and voting recovery of 184SP both recover about 1% per hour +-

Same set's of SP, and posting same comment for each, 94SP comment recovery time to 100% is 60 min.
184SP comment recovery time to 100% is 26 min.

I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on a steem buy. Fortunately I saw the message and will wait. I sure hope they get this sorted out soon. It's been a real pain!

I wish the message was up befor I placed my order!. Thanks for stopping by CB

Wow... g'd-dang. I too was about to grab some Steem until I saw your post... I probably would have noticed the big banner on the site, you saved me a trip. Wonder how are they going to be able to stay on top of the trades and post/upvote without shutting down every-other-day to recharge RC? Oh, boy.

They could always have 2 accounts. Just my thoughts. Thanks for stopping by

Hi @raybrockman, yes it's been a long week. I use bittrex to buy bitcoin with my steem and then transfer the bitcoin to a SA wallet Luno. But bittrex is steem and sbd wallets is down. The blond is not even sure how blocktrades works. Can I do the same there and will that be ok? I really need to get my steem out!

Yes block trade will convert your steem to a currency and then send it to what ever wallet you choose. Hope this helps.

They can power up more Steem like the rest of us. Should be no problem here.

This is true, but with nearly 2 million steem power already, can they do this and it help?
