Tips For Using @smartmarket and @minnowbooster for Up Votes.

Use of up vote bots is at an all time high here on Steemit and I thought I would share with you some tips for using both @smartmarket and @minnowbooster that will make the exerience easier and less fustrating. This isn't going to be a basic 101 step by step of how to do a memo submission. If you need help with that I suggest you use google to find the many posts already written on how to do just that.

I like to figure out at the beginning of the week how much SBD I have to spend per post I plan on making and then stick to that budget per post. This week my budget is 8 SBD. With that budget I always start with @smartmarket and the first thing you need to do is see how much voting power there is. You do this by going to the http://smartsteem.com website and then clicking on buy votes now in the middle of the page.

What you are looking for is the available unrestricted, unless of course you are white listed 3 of 3 then you know for sure the the exclusive votes will also apply, and as you can see at the moment I did the screen capture there was 7.9 SBD of up vote available. Now this IS NOT the amount to send. This is the total up vote available.

The system I've come up for determining how much to send at a time goes something like this.

• Send at least 2 SBD until my budget for this post is below 2 SBD
• If more vote power is available send about half. For the 7.9 SBD I'd send 4 SBD.
• Wait 5 minutes and rinse and repeat till you've used up your budget.

Oh you didn't know that you can buy votes multiple times for the same post? Yeah I didn't either and that was frustrating till I found out otherwise. Now lets move on to @minnobooster





@minnowbooster isn't the cool kid on the block anymore. That title goes to @smartmarket but if you, like me, suffer from CARS(Constant Anal Retentive Syndrome) you like to spend every last decimal of what you budgeted for upvotes. The problem is that when you get below 0.10 in that budget @smartmarket cuts you off. That is where @minnowbooster comes in.

Lets say we have a left over of 0.09 SBD and we still want to spend it. We'll need to head to the @minnowbooster website @ http://minnowbooster.net and scroll down to find the up vote chart.



UP VOTE CHART


Now if we mouse over the chart we can see the different values for different send ammounts(the opposite of @smartmarket). The two important ones for us are 43 values for 0.06 and 297 values for 0.03. So start by sending the 0.06 first and wait till after you've gotten the upvote. Then you can send the 0.03 and get that up vote too. Now you've used up that last 0.09 and it won't be bothering you're CARS anymore.
