End of 2017

From worldwide political divides to mass shootings, the natural disasters, it is an understatement saying 2017 was ruff. While 2017 might not be the best year for some of us especially those living in the States, I want to point out some positive/good things that happened in 2017 to help you guys finish the year out on a happy note. I would make this my personal top 5 list. You guys can comment down below if you believe I missed something.

Fidget Spinners
Fidget spinners, it's either you love them or you are a hater. Even those that hated it wanted one, or at least wanted to spin to win. The toy was created as a solution or helper for people with ADHD, Autism, or anxiety. The problem was that everyone loved it. It showed how tense we all are and how we were just kids at heart.

United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals
The Paris Climate Agreement was a pledge from all the countries, except Nicaragua and Syria, to actively find ways to decrease their footprint and backtrack the effects of climate change. On June 01, 2017, the President of the United States decided to pull out of the Paris Climate Agreement. Why would someone make such a rash decision especially in a year filled with so many climate-related disasters? The answer is because that person is Trump or dumb. Even Syria just recently attempted to join the Agreement in 2017. The surprising part of this is when huge corporations. Why would corporations care about the environment you ask. They don't, the reason for this is that they believe sustainable is not only good for the environment but for the economy as well. Now, there is an extra incentive for us to try and stop climate change and that is something our grandchildren can thank 2017 for.

Music
From Kendrick Lamar's Damn album to Sam Smith's The Thrill of It All album. There were countless classics this year. We also had lots of great new artists like Khalid, Sza, the boy band group BrockHampton, Amine, and countless others. New artists like Sza and Khalid are dominating the charts bringing a little competition into the game.

The exposure of the rapy]e culture in America
Ben Affleck, Eddie Berganza, Former President George H.W. Bush, Louis C.K., Senator Al Franken, Rep David Gomberg, Jesse Jackson, Rep Ruben Kihuen, Matt Lauer, Larry Nassar, Brett Ratner, Charlie Rose, Kevin Spacey, President Donald J. Trump and Roy Moore. Those are just a few of the men that have been accused of offenses of sexual misconduct, sexual assault, or rape in some situation. I all began in April with Bill O'Reilly's termination from Fox News. The TV news reporter was brought down from is throne by his victims. While he zero charges from the authorities, he showed the world people of his standings can be brought down. In the middle of October, accusations of sexual misconducts against the TV mogul was brought to light. Less than a month later, the #metoo trends caught. From this, many more women, children, and even some men had the courage to out over 100 men, all of them in positions of power, for their deviant behaviors. This brought light to the rape culture in America and gave victims a platform.

SteemIt
While SteemIt did not begin its journey 2017, it began to thrive during the year and this resulted in more great content and users. If it wasn't for the popularity of Steem this year, I wouldn't be on here writing this blog. It is amazing finding a community filled with so many great individuals. A place of peace and tranquility where most people are here to help each other in one form or the other. This type of personality is rare to find these days and that is what makes Steem special. This might sound cheesy, but that doesn't it is not true.
