First of all, congratulations to all the graduates and the professionals who have completed their coursework and are ready to work in the field that they have dreamed of. Through this post, I wanted to bring up the individuals with the same needs together and share some of my experiences.

It is exciting when you graduate with a degree. It is challenging to find a job that satisfies you and meets your competencies.

Here are few things that you have to take into consideration. Keeping in mind these few things will make it easier for you to get the job that you want.

 Keep your resume updated. It is an important one. Make sure that there are no grammatical errors in your resume. You are judged by your resume when you apply for jobs so please make sure it is correct and up to date.

 Networking and connections: It is very important to stay connected with people. Connect with your classmates, professors, alumni and other professionals who can advise you or link you to other group of people for better opportunities. There are various social Medias which helps you to stay connected. LinkedIn is one of the media to connect professionals. Add the professionals related to your profession and search for the opportunities via them. Look out for the company they are working for, the skills that they possess and the trainings that they have received. This way you can enhance your skills and prepare yourself for the job.

 Certificate courses: Our syllables might not provide us with all the skills required in the professional job. It is always good to learn some skills that are required by your job. While you are doing your job search, read the job description and make two lists of skills. Skills that you possess and the skills that you have to learn. I can give you an example: Grant writing is one of the essential skills in the field of public health. I was unable to learn grant writing while I was pursuing my degree. I took a certificate course online and now I have the knowledge on grant writing and a certificate to verify that. This can be a plus point for me. You might find different related courses in your field so take your time and enhance your knowledge and skills. You can find online courses on Coursera https://www.coursera.org. Make sure you choose the right courses.

These are some of my ideas. Hopefully, we can build up our network and connections in professional world via this post. Kindly mention

• The degree that you have pursued
• Your area of expertise
• Your post, name of the company and location (if you are employed)
• Looking for opportunities (if unemployed at present)

To give you my background, I have been working in the IT field for the past 3 years now. I have held various roles like VDI Engineer, Storage Engineer, Sysadmin, and Virtualization engineer. I have completed my CompTIA A+ (220-901&902, CompTIA Networking+, CompTIA Cloud Essentials, CompTIA CloudPlus, Information Storage Associate Version 2 (EMCISA), Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV), VCE Certified Converged Infrastructure Associate (VCE-CIA) so far.

CompTIA is a global provider for IT Certification. It is mostly for entry-level students or anyone who is new to the IT field. CompTIA courses basically gives your the building block to get your foot in the IT industry and helps you to be more confident to be able to move on to other higher level certificates that are more field specific. After getting your ComPTIA certification, you will receive the logo and your certification. In order to best utilize your certification, you can attach it to your resume in Linkedin profile or on any other job search portal. A year ago when I was in the market looking for my next project, I saw that most of the entry level requirements required a CompTIA certification. There are a lot of other certification that are available which I will be telling you about in my next blogs. So please feel free to follow me and Upvote my post if you like these types of blogs from me which would encourage me to write more about it. Hope this information helps you get started.

Just letting you know that I am not here to advertise about CompTIA. I do not work for them. I though the certifications were pretty useful and is recognized globally so wanted to share it with you all. If you would like to get started training then go to Groupon and you can find a cheap online training CompTIA bundle which will save you a lot of money. There are also lot of other sites that I found very useful for training in various subjects in IT field. You can get your training from for example
