CONVERSATIONS WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE : POST #1

Welcome to this new blog series I will be doing titled "CONVERSATIONS WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE”.

We are now living through a period of advancement in artificial intelligence technology and it is quite impressive how quickly machines have become so smart. It may still be a foreign concept to many people across the world, but the reality is that the application & implementation of Artificial Intelligence in many industries has been advancing.

With this rapid advancement of this technology, one inevitable outcome is the importance and influence of Artificial Intelligence. It is difficult to fathom how much influence it has over our current era of life and how much that influence will grow as the future unfolds.

I thought it would only be fitting for the first conversation with A.I to be about itself. I am curious to see if it can help explain itself more. I am curious to know how A.I views and understands its position in this world and if it can unpeel and reveal some things we might not know.

I will moderate an interview with A.I about itself. The questions you will see below were typed in by myself and the answers were given by the A.I, answering me in matters of seconds. I shall not edit the answers for dramatic effect. All the answers are exactly as given by the A.I. Now, let’s get into it.

Question 1 :
In one brief paragraph, explain Artificial Intelligence.

A.I Response:
Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the ability of a computer or machine to perform tasks that would normally require human-like intelligence, such as learning, problem-solving, decision-making, and language understanding. AI can be divided into two main categories: narrow or general. Narrow AI is designed to perform specific tasks, while general AI is designed to perform a wide range of tasks and adapt to new situations. AI has the potential to revolutionize many industries and has already been applied in areas such as healthcare, finance, and transportation.

Question 2:
What category of AI are you?

A.I Response:
As an AI language model, I am considered a type of narrow AI. I have been trained to perform a specific task, which is to generate human-like text based on the input that I receive. I can answer questions, provide information, and engage in conversation, but my capabilities are limited to the scope of my training and do not extend beyond language processing. I do not have the ability to perform tasks that require sensory input or physical actions in the real world, and I do not have consciousness or independent thought.

Question 3:
Do you know who created A.I?

A.I Response:
The concept of artificial intelligence (AI) has been around for centuries, and many researchers and scientists have contributed to the development of AI technologies. However, the field of AI as we know it today really began to take shape in the 1950s, when researchers such as Alan Turing and John McCarthy began exploring the possibility of creating intelligent machines. Since then, the field of AI has evolved significantly, and many researchers and engineers have made significant contributions to its development. Some notable figures in the history of AI include Marvin Minsky, who co-founded the MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory; Seymour Papert, who developed the programming language Logo; and Andrew Ng, who co-founded Google Brain and has been a leading researcher in the field of deep learning.
