Amanada Levete was once the wife and Partner Director of Future Systems - Great Britain avant-garde, amorphous, bionic architecture practice of organic forms, lead by the greatest Jan Kaplický the relentlessly architect who was constantly in the search of architecture new forms, an architect who refuse to settle into some predictable, and comfortable, architectural style.

Jan Kaplický was not only an architecture designer, he also designed solar powered vehicles, electric cars, jewellery, bikinis and double-decker buses.

After working with Denys Lasdun, Norman Foster, Renzo Piano, and Richard Rogers he founded with David Nixon the Future Systems in 1979.

After Jan Kaplický passes away in January 2009 , Amanda Levete founded her own practice AL_A, which continuous with the edge, elegant and inspiring design architecture of today.

The V&A, AL_A design, has been one of seven shortlisted architectural teams, selected from over 110 expressions of interest from architecture practices from all over the world for the new courtyard, entrance and exhibition gallery design competition.

The design is a 6,360m² of work space intervention, featuring 11,000 pieces of handmade porcelain tiles, a £54.5m Exhibition Road Quarter buried deep underground, and 1,100 square meter gallery space.

A true example of design harmony, the right partnership between architecture & engineering, and the classic architecture of the original design and it's contemporary intervention which together with the Tate Modern puts London as the center of the Art World which offers artists and exhibition visitors an outstanding space to experience.
