Hi Chris, I don't know. It happened with me yesterday, it showed that I'll get $2.15 but then at time of payout, it suddenly dropped to $1.58.. At that time, I noticed that price of steemdollar were fluctuating enough. Hope that answers your question.

    cheers thanks ill try and find out i just assumed your balance is just that and you cannot loose it once its there as such
