FACEBOOK is taking STEEMIT LINKS AS SPAM
I have been using Facebook as one of my favourite social media website but when I recently joined Steemit, I decided to send my friends the links to my steemit posts. I was also trying to introduce them to join me on steemit too. I just sent one link to one of my groups and then when I tried to login to my account it was temporarily disabled and under review because of that link.
Today when I tried logging in again, I found out that it had been permanently disabled. These are the screenshots that I took showing the account disabled message features:
##POSSIBLE REASONS
Can it be that facebook has realised that the Steemit system is more attractive and better and has an ability of attracting more of their users to abandon facebook and join Steemit?
Surely many people who are sharing great posts at a cost just for comments and likes on facebook would rather choose to join steemit and earn great out of their posts according to the way I see it.
If there are more reasons, feel free to post them as comments to this post.
##WAY FORWARD
I would advise you not to share steemit links using your main account otherwise you might lose quite a lot of your facebook work. You may wait until the issue has been resolved.
I love facebook so much but am disappointed in the way they view and treat Steemit. I hope they review their action and accept steemit links as well as they accept other good links
As I said in one of my previous comments - Facebook has always had the worst support for their users. Their algorithm forbids everything they don't like, without any obvious reason or explanation. It's not user friendly social network at all!
yeah...not user friendly at all in such instances. But I wonder why they automatically disable your account permanently if its a Steemit url and not even warn you
Well, one the newest FB algorithm, created in May this year as I know, tends to erase every suspicious link that users try to post (some accounts may be banned as a result). Maybe the Steemit is marked as such (as relatively new network) and maybe FB try to eliminate its competition.
Oh I didn't know about that. But thats not a good way to treat your competitors
Well, in a dirty game there are no rules ;)
hahahaha...but Steemit will not stop gaining momentum because of its rewarding system. Instead of spending my time posting on fb at a cost, I can post here and benefit from the blockchain
Lol, for now it is steemit seems a spam to facebook. What about five years later? I mean since i joined steemit, i never waste anytime to swipe my phone screen on meaningless posts. There are loads of irrelvant information and stuff so now i just never use my fb again.
You can say that again and again...steemit is just the best. It has quality and more relevant information than any social media platform I have ever joined
facebook is afraid of their true first competitor! they will do anything to kill stemmit.. :/
hahaha..they can try but the Steemit system seems quite strong and hard to deal with
oh for sure!
Well, FB is a piece of shit, we know that.
I hope they will review that because its going to affect many of its users who are also on steemit
They will review shit. They think they make the rules so everybody has to obey them. They are couple of narcissistic bastards with boss who also wants formally to become boss of the world, looking to be a new candidate for president of USA
Its quite a disappointment indeed
Yes, it is. Believe what I tell you. I learned it hard way.
They really got me this time and they killed my passion to us their network
Good for you
the censorship is really getting ridiculous. I cant say I'm surprised.
very ridiculous indeed. People are always having the pleasure of linking their accounts on different social platforms
Not so surprising, it's the beginning of a war. FB buy or destroy every concurrent social platform. We can be sure they won't let us make any publicity on their network.
Personally, I don't care, I quitted FB years ago...
they bought whatsapp but I don't think they will be able to do that with steemit because of our decentralized nature. Maybe banning the links is all they can do. Its quite a disapointment indeed
This is crazy ,my youtube account was also disabled and i dont know why ,its crazy
aaah even youtube is treating steemit as spam? Is there anything wrong with the steemit urls or there is something else
i dont know man kkk i resteemed your post
hahaha..thanks so much for reesteeming it. I hope we will get answers too
That's interesting, I hope facebook resolves the issue for you. I was thinking of sharing steemit links on facebook but might have to rethink it now. Let us know if the issue gets resolved
As for now you will risk your facebook account being blocked and you will loose a great deal of your work there
i recently (a few days ago)posted on facebook that people should try steemit.com ... didn't link to any particular steemit post, just the mainpage... i didn't get banned, and some friends told me that they had seen the link ok on their FB feeds...
I think when you said steemit.com it automatically reflected as a link to them but because you didn't post a definite link your article not flagged as a spam. I think posting a definite link is the one they easily automatically find and block
I've never used facebook since i joined this steem. because there are lots of reasons but mainly it's full of advertisement. at first on facebook, individual share their story and so on.. now .. what happened? they are all filled with greedy people on facebook i guess. not many people are sharing their story these days at least in my country. SO that's why i like steem for now.
Yeah you are right. And I think that's one of the reason they are trying to eliminate steemit links. I think they fear many of its users will migrate from facebook to steemit for good
Are you sure that it is because you were sharing your Steemit links? As much as I remember you would first get warning that you are posting spam links or they would be disabled. If not, this is really stupid move by Facebook.
Yeah. It was the only thing I shared that day. I was even surprised that I didnt even receive a warning message
