RE: Bid-bot activity report -- For the 7 day period ending 03/17/18. Who's paying the most to promote their articles?

in #steemit7 years ago

As much as I grumble about this Bid-bot activity, it's starting to actually look like a semi-decent idea. Lord knows Minnow-Booster has been virtually dry for the past three weeks or so, and my naive hopes of getting semi-reasonable payouts based on research quality and thoroughness of articles (in other words, by generating page views on Steemit the same way I would on any other site, but getting a penny or so in the jar every time someone hits the "like" button) are dying a horrible death as this platform becomes guided by "let me like the ones that I can make money for liking, or the ones by people who liked mine."

It is a viscous cycle indeed. The only way to get noticed with any type of certainty is to pay to play. That in of itself it not evil, what is, is that pure trash can peculate to the top.

I believe at this point it is fine to use it to get a little visibility for quality work, if viewed as a form of advertisement budget, since there is very little alternate when you are getting started.

Smartmarket seems to have a little more voting power these days.

Blessings!
