Do not fear my friend, my money is on you. 😁

It is funny how many talk about competition, which, to me, is a reflection of the programming done to use by the banksters.

Is there really competition? You create your art based upon what moves you. We upvote you based upon how said work moves us. Is there really a competition?

If you like my article and another one, am I competing against that one? It is what we are conditioned to believe because we are taught that you might vote for that article and not mine. So what if you do? Or what if you vote for both? Or neither?

We see a shortage of people on here, relatively speaking. I get maybe 70-100 votes on my post, most from low SP people. That said, in a year, is it possible we each could be getting 1000 upvotes? Sure. We are the early adopters. People look to anyone with more SP than them with "envy". They want to attract the attention of that person.

I believe you see this mindset already. We can only imagine what will happen with 5M or 10M people on here.

I get the gist of your article but, ultimately, competition is a scarcity derived condition. When we are in the Age of Abundance, there is no competition because there is plenty....

Enough upvotes for everyone.

But my money is still on you.

I was thinking, if you saw the article, you might say this ☺

I don't think there's a competition so much, and I don't like to adapt to the scarcity mindset... on the other hand, there's a finite amount of SP and a finite amount of VP for voters to utilize each day. I used to be periodically upvoted by a mini-whale. And, another whale had me on his auto-voting curation for a few weeks. I never hear from these guys any more. One might say they've found someone more worthwhile, in their eyes, to show support to. My posts don't grab their attention anymore, and I believe I'm firmly off of their radar. In order for them to show me the support they did in late summer 2017, someone else would have to be voted a little less or not at all.

This isn't a complaint, I'm doing fairly well regardless. New supporters have stepped in. I've found supporters that are more enthusiastic about what I provide.

However, their support will fluctuate in the same way my support for others fluctuates. I think most users have someone they upvote daily/routinely, but that kind of loyalty seems rare to me.

I appreciate you saying that. Regardless of who does and doesn't support my posts, I'm hoping I can maintain and even grow a fanbase. And you're right about abundance, it just doesn't seem to be in full effect.

Imagine having 100,000 followers that each upvoted a penny's worth twice a week. That would keep the bills paid easily ☺

You sound logical and realistic about 100,000 followers. I think in a short while most of us getting nice upvotes to keep creator motivated to publish more worthy posts and survive through dry spells( similar thinks on youtube where algorythm recommending you video every 2 month). It is more and more feels like youtube competition for favor from AL/Whale :)

oh wow ok! I am surprised to see this blog!
You always post art blogs so it was nice to read that you actually read other people's post and put thoughts in to steemit :)
Thank you for your successful tips!

@kawaiipower glad you liked this, it's not my usual way of communicating, of course. I'm encouraged by everyone's replies. I think you'll do well here, you seem to be doing all the right things and your content is always fun and interesting :)

I consider you one of Steemits greatest artists. But I totally agree, I already see how others are producing much better content than I do and I have to improve my game to keep up. Not that I can complain but you gotta do what you gotta do.

You content is great...I have a few videos of yours to watch that I have bookmarked...I am really interested in taking myself to the next level on here and you post some stuff I need to learn about. I am certain I am going to be contacting you soon regarding some of what you put together.

You are an asset to this blockchain from the videos I watched already.

Thanks, I appreciate it coming from you. You have been an inspiration for me recently.
You can contact me on Discord or Steemit.chat. :)

It is a two-way street @flauwy.

I like your stuff and you seem to have your finger on the pulse of some things on here.

It is great to interact with people like you. Together, we can all help each other take this place to incredible heights.

Let's do it. Mind over matter. We can change the world.

In one of my other comments in this thread, I mention some terrible pre-youtube animators that are still riding the wave of undeserved fame. Early(ish) adoption is a big deal :)

haha, I don't try to become them. I want to improve and and grow and do new things. :)

Yes, perhaps, but I think if you play to your strengths and build those connections, it makes it easier for you to succeed and reach the day that you can dedicate more time to your posts :)

Great blog! You are top dog in my eyes and should keep writing and creating funny animations and infographics! You have your finger on the pulse here and you’re so right about making connections and getting ready for the competition by building our SP and finding our niche of like-minded Steemians. If we up our game now their will be great opportunity down the road that will
enable us to go full time!

I know it sounds lazy and unintellectual, but it'd be nice just to make a living from curation rewards - I call it the "button-pushing monkey" dream ☺ Not that I'd stop there, but some financial security would enable me to live at a much better pace and have the ability to have a bigger say in how I spend my days.

I'm sure you've heard about Weiss rating Steem #1, that's just crazy, the attitude here during late summer was so defeatist... Glad most everyone stuck with it.

Yes freedom is key and you can be creative without any pressure. I remember when the redesign happened just after the ddos attack and everyone was complaining that the platform was broken and nothing worked right. I was less affected by it because I was used to posting on the esteem app which was already very buggy... ha ha... people get really pissed when functionality decreases. Great to have the Weiss rating and the listing on Binance - its going to drive the price like crazy once the market turns around!

Shut your face, more bottom feeder type comics. Kidding!! I'm not big into watching vids so this was nice, I would rather read a post and look at some drawings. This type of post caters to people like me as an audience... not sure there are many like me though... so take that with a grain of salt. I just come for your comment section mostly and the salty as hell comebacks to the spammers... lol!!!

Haha... I entertain myself sometimes... Messing with their tiny brains is fun, but for all I know, they'll never read the comment, they CAN'T read my comment, or they're just an accursed bot.

Glad you found the article worthwhile. I'll do my best to keep it up. Thanks @oldschoolrepair!

Yeah, I get what you're saying about the bots, but it is still great entertainment. ;) I think I skip the videos by most people because I'm usually stuck out in the boonies with work and I am trying to save my data.

I think your thoughts are on track. Without a doubt we will have a big advantage. Just be oneself and enjoy building solid relationships.

You have a cool niche.

@sequentialvibe the more I think about it, the more I think there is an advantage. For example, there were horrendous flash animations being done before youtube, stuff I could do while fighting a bear and wolf simultaneously — but at the time, they were new and fresh and some of the guys who were in the limelight early are STILL riding the wave of undeserved success. It's crazy!

Thanks!

Hahaha I was surprised to click on your post and see so many words, in particular I liked a lot, about what you talk about creating links with other users of the community I think it's excellent and I've always thought so since I joined steemit, one of my approaches from the beginning here, was to find friendship or at least many acquaintances.

Building friendships in Steemit is the best thing you can do, I love talking to many people from different parts of the world and many support me including you @overkillcoin, and I want my support to be noticeable but I'm just a sardine in this immense ocean that is Steemit, but I know that at a time when I cease to be a sardine, my gratitude to you and others will be remarkable.

Thank you for your support ;)

Thank you @yanes94, I feel much the same way, I'd like to give back more some day. I don't mean just to upvote someone because they're breathing, but to give more support to all those who have worked hard and stayed with Steemit through the tough times :)

The getting to know others from around the world - in a more friendly environment - is also a big incentive for me. Seems other medias aren't as 'open' as Steemit.

Have a great day!

I agree, one of the secrets of Steemit is building a strong family, we are indeed quite early adopters and I think keeping pace now, will allow us to be a valuable support for the platform in the future. Then we can be part of curating as well as adding quality original content. Hopefully we can be part of the change... I hope to see you keep growing 🖖🏽

What a lovely piece of art.

Thanks @artzanolino — that's a fantastic oil painting!

What an inspiring read, even imagined you giving a speech before a class of cadets to an epic music playing in the background and cinematic flybys. There will be a lot of competition that will result in oversaturation and minnows will forever lurk in the dark, so boys and girls shouldn't spam but focus on good content while there's still time.

I tend to think so, instead of just being the best you can at (x y z) talent, it's important to make ties now and establish yourself as a personality behind the talent ☺

Your vision was very lulzy haha...

I know you have to be looking forward to main stream adoption of Steemit... look at all those extra spammers you'll have to rant about..

Oh that will be terrible when HF20 lets the floodgates open :(
