We need to know who decides how much we earn.

Why?
Read their already made posts, look how they behave/vote, or stalk them in some other way if you feel the need to to get an idea.
Just because Steem is quite dominated by "whales" right now doesn't mean you should orientate your posts towards what they might like or not but create high-quality content. Sure, that's not easy with the temptation of a quick buck and can get frustrating (as it is for myself sometimes), but "whale-hunting" isn't the idea behind Steem and will hopefully fade out as an early-adoption issue over time.

Yeah, we'll see. Guess that's one major point where the future of Steem will be decided. It either stays attractive for people as a valubable idea/platform in the long run, or it simply doesn't.
I do see the potential problem, but reavealing private information wouldn't help in any reasonable way. And again, you'll find plenty of stuffyou're asking for if you dig into it.

Granted, this is only the beginning
