A BRIEF SUMMARY ABOUT SLAVERY

Slavery

Many years ago the Africa continent have been devastated by slavery and slave trade. Slavery is an act of been enslaved. Slave have been one of the things they practiced in some part of the world. Slavery have existed long as far as history existed but the one that caught the eye of the world is the one that occur within the Africa continent that took place in the started roughly in late 14th century with the arrival of the Portuguese in the black world. History let us to understand some attachment attributed to slaves in different of the world. Well, a lot of argument arise that the black world won’t be exposed to early civilization without the dreadful activities that took place with its world. Though slave ends in the mid-18th century but let left the continent with many questions and a little of civilization that led many from their customs and traditions.

Slave record have shown from history, that in some part of the world, how the slaves are been treated and the roles they perform, is not only for their masters but for the contribution of development of the world. In the European part of the world slaves are regarded as the property of their masters and they do everything that was ask of them. It goes down that they were used for sport (sex machine). Slave are referred to as speaking tools in the hands of their masters and instrument majorly to please the desire of the masters. In Africa they are considered as human and some are treated as members of the family that they serve only if they find them worth in character and in goodwill. Some of this slaves in Africa, are not there to serve as household slave especially the male are trained in martial art to defend the house they serve. From this, many of the slave in the continent rose to the position of general commanding the forces of their master and sometime end up been the ruler of a town if the gods will it. Many of this incidence of slave rising to position of authority have not only occur within the Africa soil but in Asian part of the world too.
Slave owning system only exist between the slave master and the slaves. Due to the power and extra unit that slaves input , is more than profit for the masters. They rather prefer to invest their money in the importation of slaves than to pay labor of the same nationality to plough their farms. They see vividly that both on short and long run slaves are profitable. Some of the masters decide to take extra credit on importation which lead to THE ZONG CASE which clam the life of many slave from Africa before getting to England.

Many argument has developed over time which still remain skeptical among scholar the advantages and the disadvantages of slavery. Many believe that slavery have improve the black world with development in disguise, it takes more from us than it ever give us in return like it give us bone for meat. Well we cannot fail to acknowledge the building of the railway, roads linking different towns together, education among other. We all know that these advantages, they were not given to us just to satisfy our needs and improve our standard of living but to ease the stress of the colonial masters in the development of their motherlands.

Though slavery has been stopped over a century now but we are still plague with the back and side effect of in our present day, which varies from discrimination, modern day’s slavery, globalism among others. It is in my own opinion that the state of slavery is so odious of position that nothing may support it.
