How I turned my $0 Investment in Steemit into $1,000
My Secret is this:
I try to post at least 10 original blog posts a day to Steemit : original photography, paintings, crypto currency commentary and lately some of my favorite music videos (with link to Source) and I try to keep my Voting Power between 90-100% by only upvoting 5 posts per day...
Try to get your Steem Power to at least $100 so that your upvote is worth at least 1 cent.

Very good tips. I have noticed that your blog is very eclectic. I like that and wish I had more Steem Power to upvote your posts. I will try to get to $100 and upvote with my 1 penny. You are a great help to us small fish. You are also never mean to the spammers who say "upvote me bro" and try to encourage them to let their Steem Voting Power increase to 100%

I am somewhat new here and would like to understand better. Is steem like a cryptocurrency? Is it useful outside of this forum? Does that 1,000 turn into real money or like more ability here?
I have read some on this but my mind is not yet wrapped around this and most terms used to explain I don't even understand yet lol.
Also does what time you make your ten posts effect how well they do?
I don't think Time makes a difference... I postcat all times of the day.
Yes Steem and Steem Dollars are a real Cryptocurrency just like Bitcoin... You can convert Steem dollars into any crypto currency - I have converted mine to Bitcoin and Litecoin through the sell button here on Steemit... the trade goes through Blocktrades
I've been trying out renting SP through @minnowbooster. 4 Steem gets you +185 for 4 weeks. ( Transfer 4 steem to @minnowbooster with 4 in the memo section . This creates a market order on their site that can be filled by anyone. You can adjust the cost and duration. Have a look at their blog for more info on that) That made my vote worth 2 cents.
I know people are on the fence about self upvoting, some even refusing to vote for a post if the creator upvoted themselves.
So since I run 2 accounts ( My personal blog and this joint account with my husband) I'll upvote myself with the other account and I'll upvote comments on the posts with both accounts so other people can benefit from it, effectively giving a 4 cent upvote to good comments. I'll go on an upvoting spree through my feed once a day until the voting power is at 1 cent and then stop. It's still early days to be able to say if this is making a difference to anyone. I hope it is. I'm going to try wait to self upvote now until just before the payout to see what effect that has.
That sounds interesting ... what sort of return to you get on your 4 STeem investment for 4 weeks ?
If you send them 4 Steem for 185 Steem Power and that gives you 1 penny per vote at (at 90-100%) that gives only about 5 cents per day if you are voting on your own posts only ... so $1.50 in 4 weeks
I'm trying to upvote as many people/ posts as I can. It seems like I can do about 10 votes a day before it goes from 2 cent to 1 cent per vote. But yes, at this point I have no idea what I'm going to get out of it.
If you get 10 cents a day from it you will make 75% of $3 ..... $2.25 for the $4 Steem you sent them ..
So I would have to make 10 posts a day, upvote it with both accounts immediately to get 4 cents to be able to break even? Is that about right?
It would have to be 10 on each account, because I bought for both.
So not worth it then.
Unless I go around upvoting every comment I make on everything.
I don't know man. It seems like you need to know a lot about rigging the system to get it to work for you. Or just hope you post the right post at the right time to earn a big reward on it.
