What does - Steem Guilds, Curators, Delegates and Bots - really say?
What does it say:
"I find it amusing, that supposed free markets always gravitate back to the formation of trade guilds and the like. Once again centralizing power, despite attempts to mitigate it with a pseudo-republic/democracy system. Which always turn out to be an illusion, because the directors can and will use their influence over the majority." - @Odrau
If you look at the environment here on steemit, you can see the similarity. While it may be argued, that there is plenty of opportunity for individuals, the platform direction says the contrary. You need only to look at the very framework of the platform to see its inevitable path. That being the gradual centralization of power within the network to those Delegates that have most successfully played the game of power. To which most will say, "a delegate is only as powerful as the people who support them." Making the claim that ultimate power resides in the people. Those who say such, do not understand human nature in respect to government nor a competitive ecosystem such as this. They should also realize that once the economy has progressed to in-group mentality, the only way to compete is the creation of other groups. Who will then compete to grab as much power as possible. Creating a future where the only players are big corporations "cough" I mean Curators and AI Bots (whom are ultimately responsible only to the person that made them.)
A Lesson from History:
"Permit me to issue and control the money of a nation, and I care not who makes its laws!" - Mayer Amschel Rothschild
