Minnow Support : My voting power back to life

Hi steemians !

I started participating in the Minnow Support project shortly after it was set up and I admit the first few days it was really beneficial to me, but after a while it was much less. The goal of the project is to automatically upload the posts of the other members of Minnow Support. To do this, simply register on Streemian, subscribe to a Trail, define what upvote (Posts, comments, ...), the Voting Power (VP) devoted to the trail and finally the tags for which you wish to vote automatically.

So there are a number of parameters to consider when Steemit and the Voting Power system are not yet known. So I followed the tutorial which suggested leaving the default values, I allocated 100% of my VP to the trail and added a little more than twenty tags on which to upvote automatically, which is revealed to be a big mistake!

Indeed, after a week of automatic voting, I realized that my VP had dropped below 20% ... while it is recommended to stay above 80%. In other words, my votes were worthless, it was as if I had lost all credibility on Steemit.

I nevertheless decided to continue to participate in the Minnow Support project and therefore changed the configuration of my Streemian account to allocate at most 50% of my VP and reduced the number of tags on which I automatically upvote. After a week, my VP finally returns to a suitable level since I have just passed the 80% bar! I will finally be able to upvote posts more seriously in a few days!

I think a lot of people are found in the same case as me and have decided to reduce their involvement in Minnow Support after this misadventure. Here are some figures to illustrate my remarks:

It can be seen that the amount of VP for each post coming from members of the Minnow Support project has been drastically reduced. The result is that 40 upvotes to 0.5% of VP on a post, have much less impact than a 100% "real" upvote coming from a member interested in the post in question. It therefore becomes unnecessary to lower his VP to the lowest for lesser benefits. For me, it is better to participate on a small scale in the project to help members who have just registered and vote seriously for the posts that appear interesting.
