Derawar Fort

Derawar Fort is found 100 kilometers (62 miles) from Bahawalpur, Pakistan. This fortification is the biggest and most greatly supported post of Cholistan. It is a square fortification and each divider is 204.8 meters (672 feet) long, vertically 30 meters (98.4 feet) high and aggregate perimeter of its dividers is 1500 meters (4921.5 feet). The door of post is on its southern side and is come to by a winding incline. The majority of the bastions of post display geometric outline made by consumed blocks. The solid stronghold remaining over the semi betray is obvious from miles around.

Hindu Rajput, Rai Jajja Bhati of Jaisalmer was the person who at first constructed a fortress on this sight. The stronghold stayed under the control of illustrious group of Jaisalmer until 1733 A.D, when, nawabs of Bahawalpur caught this post. It was then totally modified under the supervision of the Nawab. The fortress was lost from the hands of Abbasis attributable to Bahawal Khan's distraction at Shikarpur. In 1804 A.D, the fortification was shocked Nawab Mubarik Khan.

Inside Derawar Fort various structures gave quarters to Nawab's armed force. Quarters of the regal family standing abandoned inside the stronghold are swinging to clean. There are holy places of four devout Muslims close Derawar Fort. The Derawar Mosque having four minarets and three arches is correct imitation of Moti Mosque at Red Fort Dehli, and was worked in 1844 A.D.
