There's 4 types of people on the platform
People who post low quality / effort content with no real skin in the game - Who are just having fun / playing in the sand.
For profit scammers - Fuck em
For profit players / investors - We Need them
Finally, players who have nothing on the table others than their time and content. - WE NEED THESE PEOPLE - They are the general public - The Joe-Somebody who needs to see potential here_ - Which will lead to more users coming on board - because its super low risk.
Personally, I am someone who falls into the last group. I put forth a great deal of effort - I focus on quality content for the most part - I post genuine unique comments - I engage with other users - Yet aside from my content and engagement - I have not invested any actual funds - outside of the money spent to travel in order to gather content to post.
If you do as I suggested - Backing up the content that you still legally own 100% of the intellectual property rights too - Then so long as you play in the third category you don't stand to loose anything other than the time you spend on the site/ creating content. ~ Yet you can - Theoretically make money - To me that's the safest way to play the game. Because thats what it is. A game. like everything else.
Now in reference to the video - Pretty much every system of generating revenue is a pyramid - As he states - He mentions a rumour about one entity funding both sides of wars - it's not a rumour - I'm pretty sure it's been proven time and time again.
Yeah I think you agree with the point I was making. I think you could make the claim that life is a pyramid scheme so in life and steemit it's good to try and rise to the top and/or help build the pyramid. I thought the point he made in the video was pretty cool. Feel free to upvote yourself if you want some of the prize money.

I see it like this - If you're not pulling scammy bullshit theres no shame in making the best go at a game in progress (War) - Which is what I'm doing. The problem here is the middle two groups - there needs to regulation on both - The first needs to be a eradicated the second needs to be controlled.
Here's some ideas
Like people above 60 Rep or who have more than 2K Followers - Should not be allowed to put more than $50 into a post.
Maybe don't allow posts that have paid for votes to be on the trending - have them in promoted.
Trending should be organic.
View counter should never have been removed. - Transparency is GOLD

I STRONGLY support the view counter. I think you are right to infer that the removal of that was a bit shady. I guess that is a steemit website issue but I guess they may have been forced to do that. I guess the view counter does take bandwidth which we do need. @speedvoter is pretty cheap. For .01 sbd you could actually make your vote get paid on. My vote would be like .02 if I was at 100%. lol I think I'm at about 10% though.
If you used speedvoter and got to the threshold I would add in my vote which would help you with the prize money.
My previous comment is 30 minutes old so if you upvote that before me and my bot I think you would have a chance at curation awards.
Thats the thing man - I Am using bots - very sparsely - but I am - My margins are small - profits are there - If I invest 10SBD into a post - After curation and the Split of SP - I might make $2 - $4 - Which is still cool - but its not a lot - That is contingent on the price of Steem not dropping before payout - which seems to always happen to me - something where i stand to make 2x my money or better.
Is there a way for bots to change the value / weight of their vote post initial voting? - Would there be a reason to do so? I've noticed my posts that are worth a lot tend to drop more and quickly once Steem starts sliding while posts that aren't worth all that much still drop in value but the drop does not seem proportionate - That could just be my lack of understanding as to the dynamics of the weighted voting system- which I'm still trying to get a better grasp on. - So anyone willing to entertain that last bit - I welcome the knowledge/ Clarification.
