Last night I was made aware by a few buddies of mine.. ahem @egjoshslim, that I am now considered a #whale. I am being mentioned in the class with other whales and I have to say I feel pretty dam honored. Read one example here
At first, I was quite surprised by this news as I have only been a member since the beginning of July. This made no sense and I had to verify with others on #steemitchat for verification. Needless to say I've been browsing around post since and looking for more explanations on, "What makes a Whale... a Whale"
Let me clear up any confusion before I get deeper into my story... My name Wallace.
On here I am known as @MrWang not to be confused with the infamous bot @wang who seems to be a very loyal supporter of my post. I am a 33 year old Latino Actor/filmmaker who produces a ton of quality content, daily. I am building a nice following here on #Steemit and look to continue being a valued contributor of a growing community that appreciates my work. Yes, working on television and already being quite popular probably helped my status on here but I don't consider that a reason of success. Check out an inside look at my latest production here
I believe in producing quality content and because so, I expect to get the same in return. There are some naysayers out there that believe Steemit is a #ponzi, a #scam or going to sink due to the overwhelming surge of crap content and copy/pasters joining the site. They say that it's killing the value of steemit and making it harder for real creative people to be noticed or earn a solid buck or two. WRONG take a look at my #blog history.. I have made several blog post in different categories and have averaged a minimal yet somewhat successful average of around 8$ per post. That's actually pretty decent for me as my only #motivation for posting most times is driven by my need to share my #YouTube videos and push my career into further greatness.
There is a lot of content that will be created and forgotten about.. Just two weeks ago we had a massive blow up in #MakeupTutorials that I even joined in on with my #Beard parody watch here. Don't get your feelings hurt or be discouraged by not being #instafamous. It takes time, patience and practice to master any craft.. and steemit is definitely a craft worth mastering.

I will be posting a blog about how I discovered #bitcoin and steemit later on today.. be sure to look for it later today and give it a read. I hope you find this information and advise helpful if you are new to steemit and looking for answers or going insane as to why some crap post is banking when your masterpiece is bombing.. Keep plugging the boards big guy... You will learn and master your style in due time.

there is no joke.. it was brought to my attention the amount of influence and power I now hold on this site... I felt my opinion or advice for others who are trying to grow in the community would be helpful and welcomed. So I posted this.
OK, I looked at your account and became very confused. That's not a whale account, unless you have another...I think your friends might have been pulling your leg, or you have a different definition of whale.
You can check your ranking on the site at steemwhales.com. I think there are 40 whales with over 1 billion vests, the next rung down is 100+ million of which there are about 160, they might also be considered whales... the next rung is 10+ million which I believe is considered dolphin, so at 8 million vests you'd be on your way to dolphin. You can see that info at steemd.com/distribution
I'm not claiming to be one nor am I trying.. I was responding to everyone who kept insisting I was. I don't see why you would come and make me feel any less when I see your profile and your doing pretty good for yourself as well. I decided to share some advice and didn't make any promises to anybody. I'm not some false messiah either... maybe I took your comment the wrong way but jeez.. whats up with your need to call me out like that?
Maybe you took my comment the wrong way, as it was intended just to clarify how the distributions on Steemit relate to the 'whale'/'dolphin' stuff.
It wasn't meant to be about 'calling out' or trying to make you feel less, simply pointing you to the information, and you can draw your own conclusions based on the data not what 'everyone says'.
Not really that important, anyway.
