I grew up in a logging camp, smack dab in the middle of Southeast Alaska?

My family have logged for several generations. They started on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Eventually, my maternal grandfather and his brother left to seek their own fortune. And find it they did, in the wild and remote Tongass National Forest.

The brothers' business thrived, as did the families each created. Eventually, they divided their stock and ran sister camps. Ties were always strong, and the two men were patriarchs of a loving, close-knit, and boisterous clan.
