The Mouth of The Mighty Columbia - The River Runs Fierce

I have lived near the mouth of the Columbia River for 23 years, and the harsh beauty of the convergence of sea and river has never ceased to amaze me. There are so many people in this world who do not enjoy the opportunity of living near water, whether salt or fresh; I can only hope their home holds for them some equivocal magic. We sit perched at the edge of the world here, holding on tight while stretching our faces as far as we can into the wind! 

Remembering the beauty of this world is often the easiest way to remind ourselves it is worth protecting, and so is the gift of life that allows us all to enjoy it. Thank you steemit for the opportunity to share this magnificent sight with the world!
