How To Make A Great Featured Image for Steemit Posts
You may have wondered how to create a great featured image for your Steemit posts.
I'll lay it out in simple terms for you here.
Ideal Size is 800 pixels wide by 480 pixels tall; but it can be any size in proportion to that.
File Type: Save your image as a .PNG or a JPG.
Make sure it's readable if there's text in it, make sure the image is clear and not cutting off anything vital.
How do I make my image 800 pixels wide by 480 pixels tall?
To do this, you can use a few different options as far as programs that will help you size or crop and edit your image:
• Photoshop: if you don't have it already, you can get a free month trial here: www.adobe.com/Photoshop
• GIMP: if you don't have it already, you can get it free here: www.gimp.org/downloads/
• ...even Microsoft Paint; although I highly recommend the first and second option.

I usually just estimate the golden ratio and use snipping tool. You can also re-code the image as HTML5 seems to work for most Steem markdowns. Also
What code do you use to center your images, @pastbastard?
well that didn't work.....it's the "less than symbol" center "greater than symbol" yourimagehere followed by the "less than symbol with slash" center "greater than symbol"
I ended up making a post about this, thanks again :) Here's the post: How To Center An Image Or Text On Steemit: https://steemit.com/steemit/@mitchmahoney/how-to-center-an-image-or-text-on-steemit
I learned that Steem takes all HTML5 code. You can do a lot with photos such as alter the color palate or render it longer or even side by side. I will be looking to see if it uses segments of CSS or JS now. This format definitely offers more than any socmed site I have seen in a while. Github, not really social....
I know this is late, but I tried adding title tags to an image to add hover text to explain what link I had in the anchor tag, but the title tag popped out and appeared as text! If you know a solution to this I would upvote that!
Picture of the text, so that steem won't execute the text.
I tried to put it in there but it just centered the words. I'll try again with brackets [
thanks for the help!
