Why this platform isn't taking off.

If we ignore all these posts advocating either for, or against, anarchism and remember that – regardless to what degree we try to pretend otherwise – we do live in a capitalist society, and that revolutions do not appear to be giving high yields currently, which means that the only way we can popularize this platform by making it appealing to those who live under capitalism – and do, to at least some degree, submit to its rule.

To make this platform appeal as a social network, the first thing we need to add is the "social" bit (yes, this is all my opinion). This means that branching out into other networks is a good idea. Adding links to this site on social networks such as facebook or instagram drives more traffic, more publicity, more users and ultimatley more good content to the network. To allow people to connect to each other algorithms, like it or not, need to come it. The case is simple: no-one has the time or mental capacity to read through the many hundreds of posts which are churned out every minute. Instead, by using text-analysis software, which can sort through articles and identify which articles are most likley going to interest users, users can be shown the best of the network – and content that will genuinly interest them. Of course, the danger is that centralised sites can collect their user's data and sell it off to companies such as Cambridge Analytica. Combating this is easy. Use open-source software, which users can review and inspect to see if it's biased, and heavy encryption.

But. Before becomes a good idea to start driving users to this platform, an overhaul needs to happen. Allowing authors to vote for which author should get money is stupid. Of course, most people (given the choice between giving money to themselves or to some nameless strager) are going to choose to give money to themselves. Having some system to enforce quality is necessary. Some sort of minimum post length, grammar enforcements and plagiarism checks (confirmed by witnesses) should be enforced. This adds options for users to add additional data to their posts. Data which would make searching easier. Adding data about the language of post, the length (how many words) and topic through a more complex tagging system is good. A system where users can add multiple parameters to their searches, and thus get a more rewarding experience.

Creating a decentralized social network, which rewards only the creators of good content is difficult. But something we need to aspire to.

We don't want evil corporations to control the information we come accross, and profit from the content we write – without even considering users.

Let's build this network together.

@missioncontrol. Please, do take the time to interact with this post. I'm on a search to find out how to best build a decentralized social network capable of rewarding only quality content, and talking through ideas with others allows me to understand new perspectives and gain a better insight into society.
