Because in all of these calculations, the price of STEEM is not important, as in the end it is reduced out of the equations. The price (in dollars) of an upvote is actually calculated based on the price of STEEM and your earnings are all paid out in STEEM (because SBD is also tied to STEEM). So whatever number is used for STEEM price, the end result will always be in the actual amount of STEEM.
If You think a new post is needed, we will be happy to show these calculations in more detail.
