Nominate a Friend to Receive Our Delegation!

Know a great content creator who could use a boost in Steem Power?

Is there somebody you follow on Steemit who you think would make a great candidate for our delegation? Every week we give out 100 SP delegation for a period of 45 days to a lucky person who is nominated by our community. Our hope is to empower new content creators and provide them with the support they need to get going on the blockchain. The added Steem Power allows these users to earn more curation rewards, post (and transact) more often due to increased bandwidth, and it makes their upvote worth something! We also provide the winner with our curation trail of upvotes for the full length of their delegation.

How MinnowFund Works

You have until Sunday night to submit your nominations for MinnowFund Delegation. To nominate someone, simply tag them in a comment below, and tell us briefly why you feel they deserve to receive our delegation. The more details you leave the better chance they have of winning as it helps us to determine what makes them special, and possibly more deserving than others.

Please try and make sure that their account is no less than 4 weeks old, they are someone who regularly engages with other users, and that they post regularly. Also be sure that this your nomination is somebody you feel would really appreciate and put this extra Steem Power to good use. Our goal is to reward users who are making a real impact on Steemit through community engagement and great content. So let's make sure this counts!

On Monday we'll announce the winner of our delegation!

IMPORTANT: You cannot nominate yourself. If you'd like to receive delegation from MinnowFund then rally the community behind you and have them recommend you as a nominee. Also, Nominees cannot have received MinnowFund delgation in the past.

What We're Looking For

Nominees DO NOT have to meet every single one of the expectations below. But this should give you an idea of the kind of users we're looking to support.

  • Account no less than 4 weeks old
  • Should have a profile picture
  • Posts regularly (~15 posts per month)
  • Maximum of 300 SP in Their Account
  • No Plagiarism, Spam, Fraud or Misconduct
  • Have clear goals for Steemit (Niche, Purpose for Using Steemit, Goals, etc.)
  • 50 Followers (this shows they're putting in effort to build community)
  • History of leaving valuable comments on other channels
  • History of engaging with their Steemit following
  • No memes or low-quality posts.

We're really wanting to invest in those who have invested in their own success first. We also don't want anybody abusing our service and keeping others from this opportunity. So be sure NOT to nominate anybody who could be seen as a "bad actor" on the platform.

Ready to Nominate Your Favorite Steemian!?

Again, to submit your nomination for MinnowFund simply leave a comment below with the user you would like to nominate along with a brief explanation of why you feel they should receive our delegation. We'll announce the winner this coming Monday!

NOTE: If for some reason we receive no nominations, or we receive nominations who don't meet our expectations, we will choose a winner who we feel best deserves the delegation.

This service is 100% funded by the @brandonfrye promotion service and its delegators. Special thanks to everyone who has made this service possible!

Great initiative...but I have one point...know a few, but none of them seem to have a clear idea what to use Steemit for...and again, who does??? Even big dolphins and whales seem to wander here and there...bringing up topics that is in... Everybody wanders...and isn't it one of the greatest things about social media...the possibility to express yourself with whatever comes to mind??
No trying to be too negative, like I said, it's a great initiative...and then again, who is to say that it is quality posts???

I'll give an example.. a short time ago, one of the big ones here on Steemit, @berniesanders made a post called Do you like fish?? Acutually, that was all that was in the post, and I will bet my a** that you would not consider this a quality post within the first 15 minutes....well, this post made like $500, and within a few hours, this post had like more than 500 people replying....See, that is to ME a quality post....not caring too much about topics....but the INTERACTION...That is pure QUALITY!!! Making people interact, see that is social media, and that is the people we should support!

Hey @vintherinvest, I'm not really sure what you mean by wandering. I follow a lot of people (from multiple accounts) who share regular content. And most of them have a pretty set niche, or they write (or vlog) about several things. There's nothing wrong with that. But you're right, "quality posts" can be somewhat subjective, although I feel that we can all tell when someone really puts their time into a post or video and makes sure to check their grammar and punctuation. The only content @minnowfund doesn't support are memes and low-level content such as that. But we don't care about the topic one is writing about. And keep in mind that Steemit is a blogging platform built on the Steem blockchain, not a social media site (although many people call it that). We're more like Reddit than a Facebook or Twitter. But that can also depend on what platform (of the Steem blockchain) you're using. And at the end of the day, you can use Steemit however you like.

Keep in mind that Bernie has a LOT of stake so he doesn't need to worry about whether other people enjoy his posts or upvote it. In fact, most of the rewards on his posts come from his own accounts. Funny thing is, a lot of people do enjoy his posts and upvote it for the humor and fun nature of them. So you're right, it does actually have value. One way or another, he either earned his Steem or paid for it, so he owns that stake, and honestly, that portion of the rewards pool that goes with it. And I'm a big advocate for people using their stake however they like, as long as it's not harmful to the Steem ecosystem.

Anyways, it's not for me to decide what other people do with their stake, or their blogs.. I can only decide what I do with mine. And the purpose of the @minnowfund initiative is to reward users who use Steemit as a blogging platform to create regular, high-quality posts. So that's who we're looking to find and we hope to support them as much as possible. Hope that makes sense. :)

Yes, you mention it again....High quality posts...what is that???
When I say wander, I mean that peolpe don't post the same topics regularly, but take up topics that are up in time...Sometimes long, well writte posts, other times only few sentences and pictures, trying to express themselves with other things than words...Is there anything wrong with that?? I don't think so, if they are still able to engage their audience, that is just as good..to me at least🙂
And I never took a stand on wheather what Bernie is doing, og how he gets his rewards...I mentioned it because of the interaction, with hundreds of Steemians..that is value to me!

As I mentioned, the only content we don't support are memes and people who regularly post two or three sentence posts. But if the community feels somebody is a great fit for our delegation, they can nominate them either way. There are several different communities on Steem that reward different things: photography, music, poetry, and probably even memes. But we tend to focus on traditional blogging. Reason being is that it takes more time and work to write a well thought out blog than a one or two sentence status update. So we choose to support those users the most.

But no, there's nothing wrong with somebody who posts only a few sentences, or a picture, or anything like that. They just probably won't make the cut for minnowfund. Keep in mind that the people we support are typically pretty new to the platform. So if they're only posting a couple of sentences here or there, it's unlikely they have built up much momentun in the first place and are probably receiving very few upvotes and comments. And we've already dealt with several people who have tried to take advantage of our delegation with their voting trolls. So by only supporting long form articles and well thought out posts, we eliminate this abuse. They won't go through that much work lol.

Thanks for your replies...I really respect what you are doing, don't get me wrong👍

Absolutely, and thank you. I really appreciate the conversation and hearing your thoughts :)

It can be a curation project? I know a few ones for the spanish community that could use a bigger amount of SP because they're actually doing a good job.

Hi @kimbygrr, thanks for the question. We really prefer to support actual content creators but we're not opposed to supporting a curation community if it can help more Steemians. So feel free to nominate them.

@deemarshall, check the account they support a lot of artists, accounts like that need support if you can support that art page it is like supporting 100 artists, who do a lot of hard work consistently should be supported by steemians and that page is worth supporting then many other.

Thanks for the nomination @artcreator, we will definitely check out their channel. :)
